They can't confiscate peoples cameras they are valuable items. Not the same as a bottle of drink. Where there's a will there's a way. My phone (with flash) is good enough to take a decent enough photo.

The conditions of entry to the ground will probably include a 'no cameras' clause - as indeed many football grounds do. Should you refuse to allow them to 'look after your camera', you may be denied entry.

Well they did to Superwife away at Reading a few years back (Molango Goal) and we had to go to the security office to collect it after the game.
