Sorry, this again. But it was a day to tell your grandchildren about - for some of us

Yesterday was brilliant and I agree with your views on the match and crowd. I left dead on 90 mins to get out of the car park. I didnt want to but Id left at home a 2 month old baby with a sick GF - I shouldnt really have gone to the game. As supporter since 1987, done all League Grounds bar 10, and went to Gillingham, I hope you can see to putting in some clause for me, ta.
clause inserted

Considering even Gus thought about walking down the tunnel after the second red I think the people who left a couple of minutes early did very well.

I must tell my grandchildren not to swear at referees and dive into tackles 2 footed with studs showing

You could do better than that. You can tell them how you trawl other fans' forums acting like a wally. Watch them swell with pride.

Can't disagree with a lot of that and as I said, still probably on adrenaline from yesterday but I would say 'coming together of the fans in our new home' is not only a massive understatement but also could be hugely significant - we've not been the noisiest or most supportive crowd recently (compared with earlier this year) and if we can carry yesterday's atmosphere through the next few games it could make a real difference to the season. I've no doubt it lifted the players and lets face it, most of them could've done with their confidence lifting recently? It's not all about one result on a day for me, there's a bigger picture - I remember great days too - the play off final was a great day out for one but it didn't lead to many more did it? I may be an optimist but it feels like something lasting might just be being built here and I'll take a 9 man, 1.0 loss like that if it's part of the learning curve. Respect to you anyway, although I won't be moving on yet - just havin a beer  :albion2:

the one point i would make is that i think in comparison with most home fans we are pretty noisey (saturday being the exception we were magnificent) - Saints noisiest home fans by far this season. Enjoy your beer.

It was my First game at the Amex, and oh what an atmosphere. Very strange for an exile to go to for the first time, almost felt like an away game.

Performance 9/10
Atmosphere 8/10 felt the 1st half was a little flat barracking the ref rather than getting behind the team. 2nd half was amazing especially the north stand :bowdown
Stadium 10/10 loved it, very emotional day, but i guess alot of you are used to it by now.
Referee 1/10 just won't go there

frankly, bollocks (although obviously you're joking). The best support I can remember did feel more than a little spoilt by more than a few people streaming for the exits. With two minutes to go. As we attacked. Several times. Was still winding down from the game when I started this thread, so may've sounded a tad extreme but what the hell, that's how a lot of us felt and can't say I feel much different now :albion2:

Only slightly, after Noone penalty appeal was denied, Gus took off then threw down his coat and stormed down the tunnel, only to return. Although he probably only went in to let off some steam with a few choice words and didn't want to be seen as though he was directing them at the ref.

Well aware of that, Ciddy - think he was encouraging his team at the end a little though wasn't he? - as I'm sure you were. Just felt to me and just about everyone around me that of all the matches to choose to skulk off 2 minutes before the end, this was massively not the one. Seemed fairly obvious saturday's support had lifted the team, so people streaming out as they were making a final push or 4 could've done just the opposite ??? :albion2:

Yeah I guess I'm just used to it now though. On another note, it was a bit confusing booing the officials and clapping off the Brighton lads at the same time. I regret booing now, even though I'm sure the players knew it was directed at the ref and not at them.

I wouldn't worry, think they probably worked it out
