yes but you can watch a recording at the same time as recording two 'live' channels.

I didn't realise you can record two live channels and watch a third live on Virgin +

My new V+ box does have 80 hours recording time, which is approx double what Sky+ box has, but I would struggle to find enough worthwhile broadcasting on the planet to fill it.

It may be a fault with my equipment, but I find the V+ box is also very noisy (well, the fan inside).

In that case then the SKY HD box matches the Virgin Box for capacity

Not that it matters in my case as I have a 1000gb disc attached externally. I love saving HD material

So if you have a DVD recorder hooked in - can you then record it to DVD and say play it on your laptop?

As an aside I've just bought a DVD recorder (multi region) HD thingy, so we can record all Zef's old videos of him attempting to be a famous rock god when he was younger well I bloody well hope I can as I'm finding this all most confusing!

Getting a V+Box next thursday. They said there's "plans" to get loads more hd channels "hopefully" including Sky Sports early next year.

They'd better... or else.....

Anyone know if the V+ Boxes are quicker than the normal ones, just got a new one of them aswell and it's much much quicker.

Oh and if you dislike cable this will amuse you. The Virgin guy who came to our house to install a box said that about 100 people in Shoreham lost coverage of the Hatton fight in round 2... HAHAHAHA!!

get some rubber feet things to put under the legs of it and that will stop

Yes, but you will only be able to record in normal definition. I dont' think you can record Sky Sports or Sky Movies due to encryption. I may be wrong on that though.

Yes indeed - those HDMI cables are blooming expensive too luckily the player I chose in the end came with one!!

pretty sure Virgin supply that when they come to install

Way I look at it is , have a decent big TV , might as well get full use out of it , just another bill a month and luckily can afford

yes, if you don't have a HD Tv just tell the installer to leave one because your getting one tomorrow

you can get a good enough HDMI cable for the V+ for a £5 from Sainsbos if they still refuse to leave one..
