I don't understand why Young never gets near Top 10 guitarists lists, I find his guitar playing so emotional and soulful. He wrote the song a long time ago but he;s 45/46 in this performance. Magical.

Well, for me, there isn't a better guitarist. Albini is of a totally different style, and comes close, but not close enough.

Not a direct answer to the original post but I never liked Nirvana until I heard their MTV unplugged album. I still don’t care much for their regular stuff but that album is something else and really showcases Cobain’s songwriting talent and his tenderness.

Indeed I feel much the same. That unplugged MTV is a seminal acoustic set

That was part of te genius of Joe Jackson - a lot changed with every tour and pretty much every album too). New band, some new songs, and a radical re-working of some of his classics. I couldn't find them all in a hurry on Youtube, but the various versions of Stepping Out (the versions on Night and Day and The Big World for example) are wondrous to behold.

I did go and it was effing brilliant, if you can get to one of the UK gigs…

Fade Away - Oasis?

If that one off the Warchild 'Help' album counts as acoustic- or just a stripped down version? Noel singing, Liam backing with help from Depp and Moss.
