May be its because I don't live in Sussex anymore but that song always makes me emotional when I hear it.

What do you want some shit pop song that has nothing to do with the Albion

That is why I am saying Fat Boy Slim! He has suported Brighton in more ways than one and having had skint as our sponsors for so long he is part of the clubs modern history. The first few lines of Praise You are ideal for the Albion.

"Weve come a long long way together through the hard times and the good"

Hardly. Was a Sussex tune and then adopted by the army as I understand it. Has never been an old school tie song.

After watching that i can honestly say i stick by what i said , im sure the powers that be will continue to use it so no need to pelt a objector with rotten veg.

I like Sussex By The Sea but it's not very rallying is it? Also it means f*** all to the players who are not from Brighton/Sussex so surely does not do much to inspire them?

In the same way that it means nothing to the Sussex cricketers in the dressing room?

GOSBTS for me. It's more than a run out tune, its our battle cry, its our identity goddamnit.

Id love to see norman cook mix the traditional GOSBTS into something a little more provocative as we run out, there u have the tradition and the rallying tune.

i suggested about changing GOSBTS a few years back also saying that it was'nt very inspiring in the form that it is played, i got shot down in flames aswell!
but i do think now a remade version of it with everyone singing the actual words and not 'der der der der der derrr' would be a spine tingler.. or have something to to raise the atmosphere played before they come out for about 5 mins like middlesboro do (cant remember what they play now)

Not very rousing? As the old terrace song goes.."if you know your history, its enough to make your hart go whooorooooroooor..." Men ran into battle singing Sussex by the sea during ww1. What more do you want some naf pop song like glad all over. GOSBTS is the only reason why I have kept going to the albion, as it reminds me why i bother watching the dross the albion have served up or the last 20 years at all. Sake.

YouTube - The Piranhas - Tom Hark

i know a lot of clubs play it when they score , why cant we play it when we come out, then play the chorus of GOSBTS when we score

After today, I'm voting for a Beatles song.........Yesterday.

Staying with The Beatles-on recent performances: I'm A Loser.

Because playing music when a team scores is cringy Americanised shite at its utter worst and most fans would hate it if we ever started to do it?

As for the original question, we should run out to GOSBTS (and not some bloody 'remix' of it either).

It is our song, it represents OUR club and OUR county, and there is no need whatsoever to change it to some here today gone tomorrow pop shite that any other club in the league could use.

Players, fans, managers and chairmen come and go, SBTS is forever.

GOSBTS, but it A) needs to be louder and B) needs to be sung by fans as they run out. Loudly. Very Loudly.

Only trouble with SBTS is if the opposition are in louder voice "you can tell by the smell, cos it stinks like hell" is totally non-motivational:yawn:
