you do get that he's said nothing about us in this, right? "dropping a level" from ManU is to any club outside the top 4 teams.

whilst it's open to interpretation,i feel this may be the sticking point-

Plenty of Premier League clubs will be willing to take a punt on him, why would he drop to the Championship??

what if the same sort of thing is gonna happen like last year with bellamy?? they dont want to let him go to anyone in the prem but hes not going to be in the twenty five man squad? may find himself being loaned out to a championship club then....

not that i think hes coming to us, id love it if he did, but i dont think itll happen.

But Bellamy was still contracted to Man City, therefore the club could dictate where they loaned him. Owen is out of contract so if United sign him again he will be part of the 25, if they dont they have no say about where he goes,

Sorry to say it but there's no way he's coming here. I can't see M.O playing outside the premiership or a top flight club and even if he were to, there are plenty of Championship clubs who would easily outbid us.

Think we should forget this one and keep our eyes on some realistic targets!

I think Owen's tumbling odds to join Brighton are purely a manipulation of the betting markets, quite possibly by Mr Bloom himself who I am sure has traded himself into a nice position.

I doubt very much he would be joining us, although it would certainly be the biggest transfer coup for the club if it did happen since Bobby Smith in the 60's.

I can't believe Mr Bloom would bother himself with the very small amounts involved in this particular market. The sums he is used to gambling with would close the book immediately.

contract aside, if you want to follow through that idea, he'll go to his boyhood club, Everton.
