And tell him Falmer is on its way and we are now semi-rich.

I said it last season after we stayed up. Slade was a MIRACLE worker and obviously it would have been a very harsh man to NOT offer him the job.

But, it is much harder to sustain that level of motivation over the whole season and I just didn't/don't trust him to spend Bloom's money.

Do you just write this kind of rubbish to wind people up ? If so, I believe you have succeeded.

I normally think you talk a load of rubbish but weirdly I agree with you on this one. Slade is a fire fighter manager not a long term one.

Bull shit. He is still changing the structure of the club. He's overhauled the physio and still has plenty of work on the rest of the areas.

From his interview ""Now is no time for making excuses. When I arrived at this football club the training ground was full of excuses and opinions. That needs to stop. The only opinion that matters is mine. I will get things right as the buck stops with me."

It seems there has been an underlying culture at the club for a few years which is still there. Give him time to get rid of it. It is absolutely ludicrous and moronic that people are even considering getting rid of him after only 4 games!

Really? I didn't realise Bloom had given him money. I thought we were on a tight budget and he'd done his best with free players.

No thanks. How many times do you want to change the manager? What this club needs is consolidation of management, not chopping and changing on the back of every bad result. We sacked a perfectly good manager who nearly took us to play offs, appointed another, then sacked him and now having appointed another one to sack him after just a few games just because gaybloke Coppell is available is nuts.

Don't forget Coppell left us to join a bigger club. He didn't keep us up and his temperament is questionable. His home is Selhurst. No need to change the manager now. I think there is a very good argument that White and Booker should go but not Slade, he needs time.

£300,000 DOWNPAYMENT on Dickinson.
£100,000 PLUS on Jake Wright.

Add to that the fees for Dicker and Tunnicliffe and I think it is fair to say he has splashed the cash more than most managers in our Withdean years.

THat's a fair point, but why all this homophobia about Steve Coppell? That was a Man City thing, because he played for the Red Filth.

Sorry I thought it was a fact that he is gay? Or have I been misinformed.

After leaving Man City he went on a two month motor bike holiday across America on his own. isn't that proof enough?

I don't think we have an awful lot of money to spend (at least not this season).

Bloom himself said we couldn't afford a player valued at a million pounds.

I do believe and hope that 'serious' money will be spent during the pre season next year.

Gutted that we missed out on Jim Gannon, but it's done and dusted and we've got Slade. Onwards and upwards....hopefully. If not I hear Bryan Gunn's out of work.

Your points on consolidation and all that are spot on. Calling Coppell gay (even if he is) was a bit unnecessary though.
