Some positive news about the Albion squad at last

Hallelujah, enter an individual who agrees with me!
Kosh

There are quite a few who agree with you but it's as you say-many former regular posters appear to have given up and have let the lunatics take over the asylum.

sense of humour bypass by some me thinks

It's not a SOH bypass though is it? It's simply people getting fed up with the same old negative shite being spouted by the same handful of people ALL the time who believe it to be funny/clever when in fact it has gone way beyond being boring as hell.

Empty vessels make most noise...

As someone living in the Midlands, NSC used to get a generally good place to understand who was playing well badly and a general indicator of all things Albion. Whilst I’m not one who wistfully believes there was a glory day of NSC it has certainly got more tabloid in the past year or 2. What I mean by that is there are posters who refer to performances or events in hyperbole only because they want to draw a reaction from everyone else. It then becomes a look at me contest making it impossible to distinguish anything of note and that’s before we get into the threads about what HB&B had for tea and where the cocks on tour are wanking each other off this weekend.

The player ratings thread is an example. KUIPERS 10 ‘GOD’ El Adb : 0 : Disgrace, not fit to wear the shirt. FRASER : 0 Rubbish, not a pro footballer and marked down because he has ginger hair. Murray 0 : Only scored 6 goals and was caught offside 20 times and didn’t run.

I don’t expect the likes of Martin Samuals and Oliver Kay debating the merits of 4-4-2 and the Christmas tree but the level of insight into a game on here is sometimes up there with Janet and John.

'Colin Hawkins is STILL another two weeks at least away from fitness.

And Gary Hart is two months away at least. That was a good use of wages to re-sign him...'

'It's really a great shame as NSC offers many a rose betwixt the thorns...

However, trawling through the little pricks to behold the sweetness therein is becoming harder by the week.

NSC is losing it's essence ahem sense, and with it that which made it special in the first place.

The glory years have gone, it's over.'

Spot the more negative quote????

Kosh, I'm only kidding but this is a forum and forums tend to be like this.... You ignore the nettles and look at the roses.

It's actually really refreshing to read the thoughts of some of the more reasoned voices and/or opinions, it's very easy to forget how many sane, intelligent and sensible people have stopped trying to argue the toss.

Thus I guess all faith hasn't been entirely eroded, which makes the clubs current league predicament far easier to stomach.

For me, there is nothing worse than attempting to digest 100s of repetitive over analytical posts condemning a defeat, whilst seemingly refusing to take any positives from a performance and/or show some sodding support and/or faith to the club.

Letting them take over the asylum isn't the answer, if we do then I fear in three-four seasons, unless we're winning every week, they'll be no one in the stands at Falmer, as they'll be too busy on here overseeing their night of the long knives.

Being exiled in Northumberland, NSC always represented a valuable source of Albion related news, humour etc. but those days have certainly gone, as the LOOK AT ME, PLEASE mentality has firmly taken hold.

Through all of this, try to Keep the faith.

Pretty selective with the quotes there. Whilst there are plenty of ridiculous threads and iritating comments, there always have been.

The 16 year olds tend to talk in hyperbole - the me-me bores tend to post for the sake of it - but amongst all this is a lot of info about the Albion that is very interesting and informative. It's always been a trawl, and I agree with you that some days it just seems like very hard work.

I didn't quote anything. Which proves that some of this site is beyond satire.

There has been some great stuff on here - The story by Mendoza I think that Hinshelwood turned down Kolo Toure and Steve Sidwell to see how Wilkinson and Marney developed was why I trawl through the shite on this site to find those hidden gems. The stuff worth reading is probably now 1 in a hundred posts rather than say 1 in 50 which it may have been in the past. My ignore list is getting busy trying to cope.
