[Football] Some of those Burnley fans - don’t like us. Oh well !!!

I mean, for all the various opinions about who is or isn't racist I seem to remember a fan of one club went to special lengths to show their bellendery.

To temper that, I also seem to remember it was another Burnley fan who shopped the other 2 that got done a couple of seasons ago so they aren't all twunts.

Burnley fans have frequently been guilty of racist abuse at their games and also flew a “white lives matter” banner over one of their matches after lockdown.

Sadly, this post is kind of proving their point about the holier than thou attitude.. Just laugh it off and whatever. We think they are, what they think we are, that we think they are ad infinitum.. both clubs have racist, homophobic bigots, both also have reasonable folk who are neither

Granted that banner was a bit stupid, but no point tarnishing a hole club for that. Could easily have been some cock at out club. I have certainly met a few of our fans over the years potentially capable of such a feat.

I posted that their club was excellent in their response to the banner.
As it was.

I would bet my mortgage Burnley have more racist and / or homophobic fans than BHA. Probably 10 times the amount I’d guess. And I’d guess we have more fans than them so that’s saying something...!

Don’t think anyone’s being holier than thou - there was nothing like that in the posts they quoted, it was just pointing out the obvious - Burnley is a shithole and their team are vile bunch of cheats who leave the elbows and studs in.

I remember listening to a game there on SCR years ago & JC had to keep apologising as they were in the main stand and it sounded like a scene from Shameless the whole match with lots of homophobia thrown in. Vile fans on the whole.

I went to the Burnley away game, after Bong had accused Rodriquez of his racial slur.
Bong was booed every touch.
Rodriquez at the time wasn’t even playing for Burnley, he was at West Brom.
Strange behaviour on the part of a substantial minority of Burnley fans, if they indeed, aren’t a little racist.

And of course, the White Lives Matter, aeroplane banner.

Their club was excellent in their condemnation of it.

And some of us will remember the lovely and huge BNP vertical banner attached to the big chimney you can see outside the train station around 15 years or so ago. Seems little changes in Burnley.

And didn’t a father and son get convicted of racism at our ground?

Deep south
Hate them with a passion, wish them to go down every season but they always manage to do enough to stay up.
The feelings mutual.

They are the Leeds of the south coast.

Some of them are tossers, some of them ain't. Pretty much the same as us and every other team in the world....

Germany in the 30s. Some of them were Nazis, some weren't. Just like England.

Yeah, exactly the same. You're becoming an embarrassment.. Such a shame that the utter filth that the word Nazi represents is bandied about so frivolously by some.

If you go to any other club’s messageboard, looking for rubbish comments, you’re always going to find some. Why bother?

Interesting that they compare us to both Leeds and Stockport County - make your minds up, lads - but also suggest we might be racists. Somewhat rich that, coming from the home town of Jay 'might or might not be a racist despite having a foreign name' Rodriguez. But these are the mental gymnastics that Brexiters must perform every day to make sense of their own world view, so it's hardly surprising.

Been to a fair few games against Burnley; never had any issues with their fans personally - a lot of friendly chat around the grounds and in pubs etc, just like with most clubs' fans. Laughable that two relatively small prem clubs from opposite ends of the country have threads on their main message board about each other. The Internet really is a ****ing strange place full of the world's most small minded people all seemingly in one place.

'I met a group of lads from Brighton once in Denmark years ago. Dickheads. Therefore, everyone from Brighton = dickhead'
Christ almighty.

Same for the handful of fans on here constantly calling Burnley a shithole etc. Grow up, ffs. Just a hardworking industrial town fallen on hard times. Lovely countryside around Burnley, too. Always raining, mind

Both Burnley and Albion have been one match from going out of the Football League within living memory and have climbed back to the top division past much ‘bigger’ clubs. You’d think that we’d see some sort of mutual respect because of that alone. But somehow we are ‘plastics, while they are, what exactly? Their most famous fan is a Yorkshireman.

Calm down dear.

To state that Bumley supporters are exactly the same as ours (the post to which I replied, witheringly), meaning in attitude, and in equal proportion, is asinine. The fact that you failed to understand my point is a reflection on you.

And.....back on ignore <sigh>
