He was generally very good for us. He will however be remembered for the clangers, particularly the Palace one, rather than some of the incredible saves he made that other keepers would’ve got nowhere near.
agree - it's a shame, because the Palace one, he only dropped the ball because he was looking to start a counter-attack and took his eyes off it at the last moment.

He has the highest save percentage in the league, best in the league at coming out and gathering crosses and playing in a team that unfortunately will grow very strong. Of course Chelsea can win the title with him (not this year though, since Liverpool are winning it).
He has the highest save percentage in the league, but he's also facing weaker shots on average.

Although it looks like a mess, Post Shot Expected Goals - goals against per 90 (PSxG+/- per 90) is probably the best stat for measuring difficulty of saves a keeper is making, and how often. It looks at the quality of the shot they face and how often that goes in. For example, if a keeper conceded a shot with an PSxG of 0.5, they would score -0.5 for that shot, save it and they get +0.5.

Sanchez is very middle of the pack with a PSxG+/- per90 of +0.14, essentially he saves 0.14 more goals than would be expected per game.
For comparison Fabianski is top with +0.39 per90

Verbruggen sits at +0.06 per90 whilst Steele this season has managed -0.26 per90, albeit in very limited appearances.

In terms of crosses stopped, Sanchez is third for percentage of crosses stopped at 13.5%, behind Muric and Raya who have 15.5 and 14 % respectively. This can be affected by a number of things such as coaching instructions for the keeper.

Sanchez does however have the most defensive actions outside the penalty area per game though, with 2.35 actions per 90.
