...therefore I am meeting up with one of them on Saturday.

Is there a Curry House in Southwick? What are the best pubs? How much is a cab back to Preston Park area?

Over the border in Southwick
The Rajah on the Upper Shoreham Road - otherwise for take away try Chillies a few doors towards Brighton.

The Romans in Manor Hall Road is very good though - run by Albion STH. Other than that the pubs IMHO are generally pretty poor - avoid the Cricketers/ Schooner at all cost which are both Greene King.

Restaurants - Il Limone in Southwick Square is pretty good value for money and Pebbles on the Port down by the harbour is okay but a bit pricey but stocks Harveys.

On the opther hand try Shoreham decent pubs - Duke of Wellington, Crown & Anchor and more plus plenty of restaurants.

Trains back to Brighton & buses run to Station etc.

tim, sometimes the service in the rajah can be quite slow, i can recommend the cottage tandorri in shoreham(mind your head) dad drinks in the romamns but if il limone in southwick square is the italian then £50 quid for a starter and main course(masterchefed to the max, dads description )for two is over the top.

The Romans is good - but if you head a short distance due east from there along Manor Hall Road into Fishersgate you’ll find the Stanley Arms which is easily the best boozer in the area - Sussex pub of the year runner up 2007 and Albion friendly.
