This is really quite delicate too. It's by Ooah from Glitch Mob - one of my favourite bands. It's called Signal the Captain this is an excerpt from it with some great dance moves in.

I have no idea why but always reminds me of the short story 'The Helmsman' by Kafka*
*pretentious post alert
By modern classics, does that mean instrumental necessarily?
This original was covered by Phil Collins some years back, but there's nothing like having the original artist doing it.
Paul Brady recorded it about 30 years back

The short version is Violin and Piano and the full length version is Cello and Piano.
A bit about the piece..... Spiegel im Spiegel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It speaks in a language all of it's own. Pop the headphones on, sit back and be taken to another place.....
I think classical is often defined as instrumental, probably depends as to your viewpoint of rigidity in music genres. But genres have mainly been used by record labels to sell music to the general public- so stick it to them, man!
Really the general consensus of this thread is to post any musical piece that moves you. You don't have to be a music snob to take part, I think everyone has a song that moves them- although my love of classical piano pieces does issue a selfish element in that I want more of those!
I wonder if anyone could find a beautiful solo piece by a saxophone too?
I think I must have heard every track off of Virginia Astley's classic - Gardens Where We Feel Secure - album on Late Junction over the years yet never got around to actually buying it for myself. Oh well, here's a piece off of it anyway :

Don't know how to post the actual video - can someone help with that?
This is Christopher O Riley's version of Radiohead's Let Down. Beautiful.
