I'm not sitting on a solution here (surprise), but it's an interesting topic and could be worth millions if solved. Would be interesting to know what they have found out. Or even better, some independent study (don't know how health care works in the UK) of this. Why all these injuries now and what to do about it?

Hmm, I wouldn't recommend it! I hope that new medic from Frankfurt have another solution to it.

My son played on the Amex pitch earlier this week. Woke up at 3am as his ankles were agony.

SO I've found the reason for all the injuries. Its the Amex pitch......or the vast majority of players were also playing in boots a size too small last season.

Haha, well you never know! Could be the pitch, the ’modern’ sock … sorry, shoes, all the twisting and turning nowadays, everything is faster, workload etc. Would be worth a serious study!

Maybe the clubs should all employ highly qualified medics and sports scientists to look at it. Also, perhaps some of those doing MSc and PhD studies and/or on internships with football clubs or UEFA/FIFA could do some research………oh

Maybe be a bit more discerning when deciding whether to water the Amex pitch or not? Can't help with the players balance shirley? Always quite funny to see the sprinklers come on. Every. Damn. Time. Even if it's been tipping it down with rain for much of the day :dunce:

Just found this in the Guardian: "The example of Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham was highlighted. He has played more than 18,000 minutes of football, compared with David Beckham (3,929) and Wayne Rooney (15,481) at the same age."

This is just nuts. In hindsight I guess Hinsh, Enciso and maybe Fergie would have benefited from fewer minutes.
