Solo Season Ticket Holders

Really want to get a Season Ticket for next season, I go to games regularly but would like to take the financial plunge. Problem is for me is that none of my friends support the Albion, for some reason in Chichester everyone supports Pompey or a big side.

Although getting friends to come to the occasional game is easy, to get them to fork out for a season ticket is a bit much...so I was wondering how much success people have had with season tickets on their own?! I think it should be fun, but have people who have tried it enjoyed it?!

Get a season ticket and make friends with whoever is sat beside/behind/in front of you.

Well that's exactly what I'm planning, and looking forward to that too...would like to hear some success stories though, or people that swear by doing it that way etc..

I was in the same position as you a few years back! Made friends with the guys around me at Withdean and even more by offering the spare seats in my car to away games. Its a bummer when your own mates don't like footie as much as you but we are all friends at the albion. :)

I don't really like people, since I moved to the west stand (standing) when I was old enough to not have to sit with my dad in the south stand, I usually go on my own, and have never had a problem, but like I say, I prefer it that way, though next year some friends have decided to come along.

Got a season ticket when we got back to Withdean and have made some great friends around me, to the point we swap tickets, share lifts, meet for a pint etc

Never had one on my own, but me and my two mates have met a few people around us from having a season ticket. Been to a few away games with them this season, and would happily sit with them at future games. Go for it.

Go with my wife, but when she can't come often talk to those around me and count a few as friends now! As a result we booked together for falmer. Would take the plunge, nothing gets strangers talking like lower league referees!

That pretty much happened when we first started playing at Withdean..I didn't know anyone around me, and now 12 years later we have booked 7 season tickets between us for us and our children that were not even born in 1999

If you don't like people, why do you go to football matches ?

Thanks for all the responses, my gut feeling was go for it, 99% sure I will now.

As per most of the responses on here.. when we moved to Withdean there was a group of 'solo/duo' STHs in our area - now we're moving to Falmer we're going en masse as a 12 - you do strike up great bant with people around you. Plus I know a few people thinking about a coach from the Arundel/Chichester area so you might get a good crew for the way to the match too! :drink:

Going to go for it, have made the decision. Ridiculously excited about getting a Season Ticket, just about where to get one now! I can't make any of the presentations before they go on general sale so I'm just going to have to risk it I think.
