Surely it will be burn vs Burnley! I can’t see the young lad starting that. Maybe he can play in the cup.

Gutted for solly. He has been brilliant.

Big miss as he was improving all the time and looked strong in that position. Who covers for him now

We've got a few options, hopefully Veltman will be fit and comes back in as right wing back, as March was on the right against Liverpool. We've got Karbownik who can play on either side as well. Alzate and White have played on the right this season too, Burn had probably his best game as LWB this season against Liverpool. With injuries mounting up we are seeing the advantage of Potter liking players that can cover and adapt to multiple positions.

Such a shame for Solly if this ends his season though, gutted for him. He's really found his position as a wing back and has been playing with real confidence and consistency this season.

Burn, Karbo or Izzy (very unlikely).

Solly has played nearly every minute of this season.
Only missing Burnley (H), and on the bench v Arsenal (A) and Man City (A) .
Alzate and Ben White have also played as wing backs / full backs so are other options.

Gutting news. But it did look bad.

An outstanding season Solly, most improved player and now one of the best attacking LWBs in the PL [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]

I think Burn was always going to play tomorrow whatever but his position at wing back is pretty much nailed on as you imply. Burnley love a long ball to the flank to start their attacks off.

Agree about Alzate & White but both have been swiftly moved out of that role because of not setting the world alight - Burn however........

So sad the Liverpool game is now marred to some extent by this injury. Potter has a number of go-to players, March was very close to the top of his list for automatic starters.

Hopefully a speedy recovery. At least its not an ACL injury.

But trying to be positive, if we can get through the Burnley game then by the next league game Potter could have Karbownik, Lamptey, Veltman, & Burn to pick from for the full back/wing back places.

I was listening to the local Derbyshire radio for that game and I remember hearing the fans booing and in addition their local commentator was also laying into March, saying he was fine and time wasting etc; total scumbags.

Anyway has there been any updates, unsurprisingly I heard he won't be in the squad for Burnley.

I was there, and so angry. They carried on booing as he was stretchered off the pitch.

They also booed Calde for having his shirt changed on the sideline when he was bleeding. Nasty fans.

Having had four cartilage ops on my right knee, I know compared to the first one and the last one the recovery time is now greatly reduced. The first one was easily 6 weeks of hardly doing anything the last one a week, in fact walking on the same day. Solly being somewhat fitter than an overweight middle aged bloke hopefully he'll recover quickly

I would look no further than big Dan Burn to be honest, although not a wing back 'by trade' he has been occupying that role quite frequently since he came to the Abion, and has generally made a pretty good fist of it. We need some hight and stature to be able to stand up to the tactics that Burnley will doubtless throw at us.

The introduction of Karbownik is best left for the Leicester cup game next midweek. There again this is Graham Potty, and he has frequently surprised with his team selections!

Gutted if he really is out for the rest of the season. Been one of my favorite players ever since he made the first team.

I’m certain Burn will start tomorrow just because it’s “Physical” Burnley

Solly will be a big miss, he’s been really reliable all season. I hope he’s back soon.

He will certainly be missed as he has been excellent this season. The only real upside is that it’s not ACL. Cartilage removal/clean up is an in and out in a day operation with very small incisions. Hopefully we see him before the end of the season.

Still Burn in at left back/wing back for Burnley, give Karbownik a go in the cup, and then can assess whats best for rest of the season.

Hopefully its a simple op for Solly and we see him again before the season is out.

Oh what a shame. I was musing on the thread praising his Spurs performance how high his fitness levels were, and then this goes and happens in his next game.

It's even possible that Karbownik takes that role and runs with it, stopping Solly being a regular next season, such a shame for the lad.
