How did he manage to kick it vertically upwards?
* I'll take this as pretty much the only positive from yesterdayAs much as I love Solly, as soon as I saw him walking towards the spot I knew he would miss. Why on Earth did we let him take one?*
* unless, perhaps, this whole charade, including the two FABULOUS (in context) post hits, was part of a plan by RdZ to help us focus on the league and European qualification. Perhaps...
I thought that might be the reason for letting him take it, to try and get his confidence up.Letting him take a penalty... ok, someone needs to do it tbf.
But the fifth which is very often the one that could either get you through or knocked out... When a player has some self-confidence issues in front of goal, I just think it is a very poor decision to make him take a penalty with that amount of pressure. Only rational explanation I can think of is that RDZ might have thought "lets make the bloke a hero to boost his confidence"... which is not a bad thought in itself but it sort of backfired in that case.
A hero? It’s the league cup against a struggling league one side hardly the World Cup final. Most pl teams would hardly celebrate if they got the win.Letting him take a penalty... ok, someone needs to do it tbf.
