[Albion] Solly March, local lad and Premier League star, is f***ing brilliant

He has to play left wing back. We're so much weaker when he's playing right wing back. It simply doesn't work is too much of a handicap to keep persisting with it. His header was one of the worst headed attempts at goal I think I've ever seen, incredibly poor. I'm sure he'll start again against Forest, regardless of his performance on Friday, and probably be his same frustrating self.

That's the spirt, love your enthusiasm...
Don't think I will bother going now, thanks for that.

His general game is good, hence why he plays so often. Problem is there is no point having a player who regularly gets into goal scoring positions, who erm, can't score.

If his finishing was better he would be seen as a very, very good Prem player. Like Pascal Gross is seen by fans of other sides.

He was excellent against Liverpool, but Tottenham and Brentford both had his number. Hopefully he will perform as he did against Liverpool, where he was excellent, or against Leicester. I don't expect him to play well though, I've long since accepted he doesn't or can't play that well on a regular basis.

It's hard to fathom how his final ball and finishing hasn't improved a single bit since he's been here.

He's still been better than Trossard the last two games though...

I suppose it depends on what you mean by "a regular basis". He was probably still one of our better players v Spurs (everyone, to a man, struggled to break Tottenham down) and at least he got into scoring positions v Brentford.

I'd say he's averaged a fairly decent 7/10 this season, which a) is just my own opinion but b) potentially a reason he started he's started every match and played the full 90' in six of them.

I don't think it's a case of "no shit" actually, because there are a lot of people on here who don't rate him full stop, rather than seeing he's a very good all round player, with a couple of specific issues (finishing and one-footedness).

Trossard has purple patches, but is then capable of being entirely invisible for a few games. He's in one of those spells now. If he didn't have so much recent credit in the bank, he'd be absolutely hammered on here for the last 2 games performances.

If he wants a top 6 move he can't be doing that.

He's always been like that for us, it's just that as he gets older his vanishing act is becoming less frequent. He's arguably one of our best ever players but, you're spot on, he needs to deliver far more consistently to get a top 6 move

Agreed - he is getting more consistent in impacting games this season - I remember early last season there was a period of about 5-7 games with absolutely no contribution, and probably moreso the season before.

I do think people forget he’s now 28 and not 21 it’s always what if he could score what if his final ball was better. If it’s not happening now it’s unlikely it ever will.

It's the absolute lack of conviction / confidence that Solly suffers from whenever he finds himself in a scoring position that always gets me. He just seems to freeze. Not sure that's ever going to change now

Yes 28, generally considered to be the age when players enter their prime. It will be exciting to see him develop into the fine player all those managers believed him to be.

I think we would all agree that heading isn't Solly's strength, but he got it on target, to the side of the keeper, who was going the other way. All in all that goes down as a decent save, from an on-target header.
Now compare that with recent headers, from our main striker who is known to be "good in the air".
Brentford, Liverpool and Leeds last season. 2 straight at the keeper, and 1 off target when it was easier to score.
Solly's header wasn't even the worse than those, let alone the worst header ever.

Then there are the headers from corners, from our central defenders that routinely loop over the bar.
Worst headed attempt ever?
Not for me Clive.

It's not even the worst headed attempt this season, let alone someone has ever seen. Hilarious, I can't even reply when opinions get that daft.
