Interesting comments regarding his contract I thought. Talks have been going on for a while, and hopefully something can be agreed...

Surely we aren't going to make the same mistakes we always seem to...

When does his contract actually run out?

I think the club have done the sensible thing on this one. Wait till he's back and fully fit and assess him. I've no doubt we'll offer him a new contract when he proves his fitness.

Hopefully the same mistakes as...
Dunk - signed extended contract til 2020 in middle of existing long contract.
Hughton - signed new 4 year contract in middle of existing long contract
and March - apparently offered new contract , even though existing contract runs til June 2018.

Hughton - signed new 4 year contract in middle of existing long contract
and March - apparently offered new contract , even though existing contract runs til June 2018.

Rather than Barnes, Murray etc

The article mentions a new two year deal. Unless it is a two year extension it doesn't make much sense does it? Or will he still be subject to a tribunal at aged 24?

Yep. But obviously on better terms (ie: big increase in wages)
