Has anyone? Seriously though you don't become a bad player, adjusting to the Premier League is hard enough, doing that in a struggling team even harder, he will come good and, one day, we'll sell him and the vast majority will be disappointed.

I think this is the most likely scenario.

I really think he’d have been slung out on loan if Potter didn’t fancy him; he has a great attitude unlike folks such as Andone.

We can’t convert any chances at the moment, he was able to do this prolifically at AK before we signed him; it’s time to give him a run out.

We’re in the tiniest of minorities here but before I write him off, I need to see him play a good few games of Potterball in the Premier League. I think he’ll surprise a lot of people.

Nothing at all to do with like/dislike.

Locadia was not PL standard, and was shipped out. Similarly I just feel, from all evidence so far, that Ali J is not PL standard either.

When the club are leading with the news that he's back, you can only assume they didn't notice he was in the squad last weekend either.

It’s contagious!

They must have caught that particular ailment from you when you didn’t notice that he was in the Man City squad!

I think it's to easy to just write him off, as you know many players have played for one club in the EPL and been crap only to be shipped to another club and flourish.

Diego Forlan for starters

I refuse to give up on Ali J until I have seen him have a run of games under Potter or he is shipped out. Unfair to judge him under CH imo, he is not a back up full back.

If only he could have been effective in attack and kept the ball, he might not have needed to be one...

Run of games, we're going to be lucky if Potter gives him a run of minutes!

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Looking back over his time at AZ, it looks like he struggled there in his first season, improved in the second and went on to smash it the third.

Let's hope history repeats itself and he can prove the doubters wrong. If not, c'est la vie.

All I know is if people on here say he is crap he is probably good. Lets go through the list of "crap" players shall we?
Butters, Navarro, Murray, Barnes, Stephens, March...off the top of my head. If one thing is for certain its that a lot of people on here can not spot a good player if they are in front of their face every week!

Someone needs to tell Mr Potter first.

Always a fan of Barnes and Stephens. Ali J though, quite a different kettle of fish. Do you rate him on a par with those you mentioned?

Lets all face it, none of us have seen him play enough to make any judgement. Lets just see what happens and support him when he plays. Or is that far to hard a concept for some people to get their heads around?

Not one post says they will not support him, as any other player.

That said, the groans and verbals aimed at Bong from some of the away section at Stamford Bridge was less than encouraging.

Creativity?? March works hard and is best at wing back but he's not creative. Haven't seen him beat a man in 2 years. Ok he put a good cross in a couple of weeks ago and got and assist but now we have to wait another 6 months for him to do it again.

He got 5 last year. He was our second biggest creator of chances if I remember correctly, alongside Knockaert and behind Gross. But good effort at trolling.

So apart from the very occasional foray by March, who would you say looked the part when we attacked last season, whilst excelling in his main job as a defender as well?

I’d also like to know who kept the ball effectively when we attacked too, seemed to me it was a case of players worrying that heads might explode if we crossed the half way line :lolol:
