Sounds nasty however being reported as not terror related and that a local man has been arrested in connection with the incident

Let's hope that the victim is able make a full recover as soon as possible
100% terror related.

All the hallmarks of Lee Rigby's murder sadly.

100% terror related.

As @The Clamp points out above, whilst tragic, it has none of the hallmarks of Lee Rigby's murder and it's being reported everywhere as not terror related. Unless the pair of you are party to a source of facts that NSC and mainstream media are completely unaware of which prove otherwise ?

Counter terrorism police are involved from reports ive read…whether it is or not is yet to be seen…but obviously its not been ruled out, but that doesnt mean it is …..personally my thoughts are with the person involved and his wife who fought to free him from that horrible man

Acting Ch Supt Richard Woolley of Kent Police said: "The motivation for the attack is currently unknown and forms part of our ongoing enquiries, although we are exploring the possibility that it may be mental health-related. "We are also investigating any possible links between the location and the suspect."

The direction of some of these threads mystifies me. Thankfully groups like the BBC are sensible in reporting these terrible happenings. All we know is that an innocent person, a member of the armed forces, has been attacked. Sometimes it is terror related, but sometimes, as hard as it is to accept, the person involved is clearly not of sane mind and there is diminished responsibility. So no conclusions can be drawn other than that is an awful tragedy. Our thoughts should stay with that and let the police do their job.

RIP. Truly awful.
He’s not dead. He’s in a serious but stable condition.

I’m sure it’s not that serious, I watched C4 news this evening and the top story was about some nobody crying about getting bullied on a light entertainment show………there was 25 on this issue before we had about a minute on this story.

I thought to myself then, nah can’t be all that, possibly no worse than a bitch fight on a Saturday night down the ROXY with a stiletto type wound on the bonce. Nothing to see here.

In my world some nutter running around with a collection of knives is terrifying and therefore a terror attack. It does not need to be politically or racially motivated to be a terror attack.

Thoughts and prayers with the victim.

If you mean a terrorist attack then it is quite specific as to the motivation of the attacker; to spread fear and terror amongst the wider population.

It does need to be differentiated I'm afraid.

Radicalisation and the collapse of our mental services are very different issues. If you want the Government to get to the root cause you need to find out the motivation.

My prayers for innocent victim.

I'm sure you see this in Brighton but up here over the last couple of decades I've seen a huge increase of people on the street with clear mental health issues. I'm not talking about the obviously drunk, the obviously stoned or the obviously homeless. All of which can lead to or are sometimes the product of mental health issues.

I'm talking about the visibly mentally ill just going about their business.

Just this afternoon when I made a visit to Toolstation.

Random poor guy in the High Street disturbed by road works and came up to me shouting about them.

On the way to Toolstation, women with lets say a potentially aggressive strong dog she was struggling to control and acting very oddly but clearly not drunk.

Decided to cross the road in-between the traffic a few yards from a crossing and struggling to keep the dog under control.

I see it almost every day up here. I used to live near a psychiatric hospital years ago with a day centre and kind of got used to it, but it's got much more visible now.

There are clearly thousands of people doing their thing without access to treatment.

I get a bit bored with politicians banging on about the NHS. Two fundamental problems in this country. The collapse of mental health treatment and lack of funding/staff in social care.

Anything they bung into both would save millions/billions for the NHS.

I didn't vote this time because I was away. If any party would have highlighted the above I would have made the extra effort to do so.
