Went in the garden for half an hour once it got dark to watch sky. Got bored with waiting for the sky to turn green so spent 15 mins picking slugs off me Delphiniums and Lupins and chucking them over the fence to the wild patch the other side. Heard hedgehogs rustling around a flying beetle clicking past but when a large bat started flapping round my head, I’d had enough of my nighttime safari and came in. Took bloody ages to get slug slime off my fingers. This is a very mundane extinction event
