When? There was a "bit of a riot" at a specific Ireland vs. England game; but I've nver heard of fans killing fans during or after FL games, and LOI games are known for having no segregation...

They are right though, Soccer, the sport bearing a passing resemblance to Football and played exclusively in America is shite. The superior version of the game which is called Football on the other hand is played in Europe. Easy mistake to make for your average Yank.

Me, I'd rather eat Hep C infected rusty razor blades than be subjected to anything the Americans pass off as sport. I was once forced to endure an entire college American football game and was so bored I started counting Fat people, there were too many of them so I had to limit it to Obese people, again there were far too many of them too so I had to change it to morbidly obese people, alas this also proved impossible so i settled on morbidly obese mullet headed people of which there were several thousand.

The "World" Cup is not the a World's Cup, but a competition among 32 countries, disproportionately allotted to European countries.

rather than one nation you mean?

From the country that produces baseball's World Series!

Actualy, aren't USA behind Japan and Cuba in the World rankings of baseball at the mo'? ???

"Soccer is stop and go"

Don't American Football game last for something like 3-4 hours? Why? Because the fat idiots stop every 5 seconds to take a donut break, that's why.

Thats what I was thinking. I've got no idea how, in the championing of American Football, you could criticise another sport for being "stop and go". Clearly the blinkered view of an American Football fan.

The American comedian George Carlin says that football (USA) is a microcosm of America -- mindless violence, interspersed with committee meetings.

2.The reason why football players wear protective gear is because they are BIGGER, STRONGER, and FASTER than rugby and soccer players. If you know anything about physics, you'd realize that if someone like Ray Lewis hit anyone in rugby or soccer at full speed without protective gear, he'd most likely KILL them. The protective gear in the NFL is necessary to protect life, not because of weakness. Soccer players cry when they trip over another player.

They are bigger because they wear protective gear. Some are stronger which generally makes them immobile compared to other players, which would not make them faster. Try putting to Tongans, Samoans, All Blacks or Fijians out there and the Yanks would be reaching for their shotguns crying for mercy.

The only way Ray Lewis would kill a rugby player is by using a knife and he certainly wouldn't do....oh, he has done that and was indicted for murder and aggravated assault.

The protective gear is used because it is not a proper sport. It's like soooooooo shit.

Maybe the reason soccer is not popular in America is due to the fact that the majority are obese and so play lesser sports such as American Football (they use their obesity to run into people and flatter them) and Baseball (they use their obesity to swing the club as hard as they can. Occasionally they make contact.

Item #3 in Penguin's post from that soccer web site says that "Soccer is stop and go" It takes about three and a half hours to play a one hour game of Hockey or Football. Both games STOP for TV commercials. Don't know anything about Basketball, but an American friend of mine told me once that all you need to watch in a Basketball game are the last three minutes.
In Baseball, any player who is 30% successful at the plate, is a star.

But the fat bastards actually have to run once every 10 minutes when they do eventually hit it:ohmy:
