now that England have qualified, whose making (or planning to make) the journey to South Africa for the world cup?

I'm personally going with 4 other mates for 40 days for the whole tournament, and a week afterwards(ish) have just sorted accomm, flights, 2nd round tickets and a safari for afterwards. gonna be based in cape town for the tournament, and am already ridiculously over-excited!

so which other brighton fans are going to be there?

Well for the first time since France '98 I'm high enough up the loyalty points system to be guaranteed tickets for every England match, so I'm hoping to go along for at least a couple of games. The original plan was to go to the
2nd and 3rd group games and (hopefully) the first knock-out game before heading home, returning should we get as far as the semis.

I didn't / don't want to book anything until the draw is made on Dec 4th as the travelling distances involved between group games could be massive. I was relying on getting something from the official englandfans travel set-up, but if the prices released by Thomas Cook yesterday are anything to go by (£2,500 for 3 nights and ONE game) then I might be struggling.

so far iv chalked up about £1500 for 30 days and 1 match (no guarentee its england) am not a member of england fans so will find it tough to get tickets, but am applying at the next stage for any tickets in cape town (if they are still doing it, im not in charge of this!)

patchamalbion i will probably spend the 30 days wearing my albion shirts on a rota basis so youll hopefully notice me about at one point! but i shall pm you nearer the date (if i ever remember!)

Been to many tournaments down the years, but happy to give this one a swerve.

why though?
beautiful country, first ever WC in africa, cheaper than others. Will be less plebs out there than Germany i imagine.

there are certaintly risks and it is very unsafe and unstable in parts but it hopefully wont taint what could be a cracking trip

I'm going with three others as we were successful with team specific application and 2 group games through fifa. We'll be heading 4 cape town as we have friend there who's letting us stay for free, happy days! can't wait only 9 months to go.
