can't go but there's a cool job on Global Track - marketing manager for managing the new partnership! now that would be a good job!

Band 35 Secondment, I would LOVE that. Shame I have no marketing experience.

Anyway, from memory:
1) He's signing his contract in the next couple of days.
2) 5 signings expected, 1 from south America? He said something about someone not being a risk as he was cheap.
3) It has to be The Amex Community Stadium - something to do with "Ambush Marketing" laws
4) There is the possibility of charity games, etc.
5) The stadium will expand to 30K if successful
6) Gus is a LEGEND!

He also said that France were rubbish and the best player he played against was "an already a bit fat" Maradonna :lolol:

Didn't look convincing when he said it though, really hope it is sorted soon.
Towards the end when Martin was asked about his 5 year plan, and was very impressive, he checked with Gus to make sure he was listening. I read that as still trying to convince him.

Other notes of interest, but nothing really new:
Martin spoke Tony Bloom's high ambitions for the club to progress.
Gus is happy but realistic about his budget for players.
A big 'No' to loans. Looking for squad of 24/25 players. Real focus on the spirit in the squad. If a player looses his place to a team mate, yes he wants his place back, but still supports his team mates from the bench.

Yeah I was full of admiration and man love for Gus when he talked about basics and squad unity.

After listening to him today and his pland for the next year, he really sounds like he knows what he is doing and is very confident. Well Done Gus!!!:bowdown:

Highlight of the Q&A for me was the marketing bod (missed his name!) telling the story on when Amex were first approached to sponsor the stadium,

cue a response from "You want us to sponsor Withdean - are you shitting me!"

One other thing was the marketing bod advised they wont be sponsoring the team -
