Ask me when we've played another ten or a dozen matches! The lesser-spotted Teams-that-can't-catch-us thread hasn't even began its Spring migration from its Winter home somewhere in Darkest Africa yet!

Rather than the antiquated expression Explorer Henry M. Stanley used in his 1878 book, Through the Dark Continent. I presume you call it darkest Africa in reference to the lack of night lighting that leaves a black mass over the continent on night satellite photos.

I’ll get my knee. Newcastle or Liverpool for me on current form analysis.

Chill out everyone we’ve been in fine form since the beginning of Jan: 13 points from 8 games against teams from both ends of the division. It’s not been backs to the wall stuff either; we’ve had the upper hand in all but 2 of those games in my opinion.

Just look at the betting odds if you’re worried.

We'll need to win three of those at least because April's fixtures look very tough indeed and then we finish with City at home and Arsenal away.

Far too early to choose a poll option for me. We're in the mix until we're mathematically safe.

I agree, I look at that table and see us in the melting pot too [emoji29]

Fulham, I dont see where they are going to find the necessary points from the games they have left.

I’ve got them to 38 points on current form.

Win v Palace
Draw v Liverpool
Win v Leeds
Draw v Wolves
Draw v Arsenal
Draw v Burnley
Win v Southampton
Win v Newcastle

Again on form, we’ll be in the mid-40s. However, Southampton, Newcastle & Palace should be a little fearful. Especially if the later lose to us and Fulham in their next two games; that’s the dream Mr Swanny!

Our records in the 'winnable' games is not pretty.

The number of times we have played teams around us - particularly at home - and not won any of these games. I just hope we don't add another one to this statistic tomorrow, but fear we will.

It's a slightly different situation now though.

Fulham/Sheff/WBA at home and Fulham away, we were fellow strugglers and an away point was good enough for them.
Now we play sheff and WBA away and it's a must win game for them.

We struggle against team parking the bus. If WBA and Sheffield united want to try and play against us, then I think we have enough to beat them.

Almost certainly Fulham.

They have got to win 2 more games than the others above them. I can see Leeds United plunging closer to the drop zone.

And Liverpool have probably just done enough in the early part of the season to stay clear of the bottom 3

Fulham. They score less than us and don't look like they could suddenly out score teams, plus I think they've got a tricky run of games coming up.

In these situations, current form is a significant indicator.

Not with so much of the season left, it isn’t. Look at the difference to any other month to see how it flips.

I’d say anyone in the bottom half could still go down. We’re not out of the woods yet.

Avail yourself of the 25s then.

It's 25/1 for a reason.

Newcastle. Though I’d quite like it to be Wolves or Burnley too.

We’re still in with a shout as have some tough runs of games. I think we’ll be fine but can’t afford to slip up in too many 50:50 games. This is one time too many draws might help us though as there are plenty of teams who’d have to win out. Somebody will have dreadful form and I just hope it’s not us.

Why would you want Wolves to go down? Like West Ham, they seem to be a club where we just have to run out on to the pitch and we're guaranteed at least a point. The gods smile on us at Molineux and the London Stadium.

Monday is massive. Beat palace and the feel good factor alone will propel us to safety. Lose, and the club and NSC will be on a massive downer.
I think Newcastle will get their act together.
Fulham will go down.
