Yup, saw us lose 4-1 there in about 1981. Midweek game. We took the lead as well. The result meant Villa went top of the table.

Yep, went to see 2nd placed Villa against 3rd division Fulham in the FA Cup 3rd round about a decade ago. Fulham won 2-0 I think.

I was at our first away game and saw our first goal (Maybank I think) in the First Division in 1979. Remember going on the Seagull Special train and walking with a police escort to the ground.
The 2-1 defeat (after 0-4 against Arsenal the previous week) made us think that whilst it was going to be tough in that league, we would be ok because we played bloody well that night.

I also saw the Czech Republic there in Euro 96.

I was playing in a football tournament in Birmingham, and every team got tickets to see this

Villa Park on 21-08-1996
English Premier - KO 19:45
Aston Villa 1 (0) - 0(0) Blackburn
Southgate 64

I spent the game ridiculing Gareth Southgate for knocking us out of Euro 96, then he stepped up and scored a screaming volley in the top corner from 25 yards out

:goal:

Never been in the Stadium, despite living fairly near and having used the train station a couple of times. I'll try to get a ticket, but given the popularity of the tie I won't expect to be at the game.

Yep, 1998 vs. Liverpool.

The Birmingham OB were very unpleasant I recall.

my 2 sons and 1 grandson (Birmingham born) are season ticket holders at villa (1 son and 3 grandsons are bluenoses) but all support albion as their second team. I will have 3 or 4 of the kids with me and the whole crew will be in the ground somewhere. Party afterwards whatever the result

That's also the one and only time I saw the Albion there. Couldn't miss it as it was our first ever away game in the top flite. Also our first ever goal. Would be good if they could do a seagull special at 1979 prices!!!

Yep, absolute wankers, the worts of all the west Midlands, and that's saying something!!

I have been a few times but the best was standing on the massive Holte end pre all-seater, and beating Liverpool 4-3 in the cup semi of 1990.

If you drive, it takes for ever to get out onto the nearby motorway.
