Stadium beer is stadium beer. Stadium cider is stadium cider.

It'll all be low grade.

I love it. All part of the charm.

Nobody who chooses to drink Strongbow is allowed to criticise another cider or any alcoholic drink for that matter - are you 12 years old OP?

Thanks for the insult about a genuine question, and asking if I'm 12:rolleyes:

What a prat.

In response to the others it 's my choice of drink, I like the bitter bite when it's cold and refreshing in the summer.

As far as the heartburn goes I've had the same thing with all the Rekorderling ciders and pear cider so avoid those, the same with Aspalls.

I don't mind a Stowford either but Strongbow is ok as far as I'm concerned and available at most places.

Weston's original would be ideal but I imagine the authorities wouldn't be too happy with an 8.2% cider on sale.

It's just frustrating when a football stadium actually sells something you like and seems quite popular from what I've seen there and changes it to something else that I didn't personally like.

Each to their own and all that.....

I haven’t drank cider they stopped selling Woodpecker in those Corona type bottles (the ones you used to get 5p back on) in about 1985.

However yesterday I was given a pint in error instead of the Lager, I drank it and found it quite refreshing on a hot day and even bought a second pint.

I’m off sick today as I’ve been up all night with the worst case of the shits I’ve ever had.

It could have been the heat, it could have been something I ate, however I know where I’m laying the blame (excuse the pun)

Two inches aren’t for everyone clearly

Being a Harveys drinker I was most upset at the Euros that it was not available. Heineken paid for the rights and all that. Anyway, cider is always my backup at away matches so tried the Inches and was more than happy with it. Still had harveys Saturday but nice to know there is a subsitute when supplies run low.

At the game yesterday there was no Strongbow on offer in Dicks, just some horrid sweet cider called Inches.

I thought it might have just been left over stock from the WC games.

But alas the ghastly stuff was for sale on the concourses too.

I had 3 pints of the stuff in total, after the last of said 3 at half time gave me the worst case of heartburn I've ever had.

I went back to the concourse to ask for some milk but they could only point me to the uht stuff on the drink shelves in the SWC we're supposed to use for coffee etc.

I was in a fair amount of distress and even approached by the St John's ambulance thinking I was having heart problems as I was clutching my chest.

Is this switch to Inches cider a permanent change?

If it is I won't be doing any drinking at the ground from now on as I don't like lager or the brown stuff.

Tis a shame as getting to the ground later on trains is a ball-ache.

This sounds quite alarming to me. OK the heat was pretty monstrous and many of us would have come away feeling a little wan, but there's no way you should be trying to self-medicate with milk, a condition that has you clutching your chest and attracting the attention of the St John's ambulance folk. Respect for the work that they do, but they may have failed you a little bit there by presumably letting you talk them out of making you go right there right then for a proper check-up

Cider drinkers really are the proper left-handed gingers of the support base. I tend to prefer the flavoured Strongbow myself if I can't get Magners

I find other peoples reaction to what people drink really bizarre, they wouldn’t go in to your food cupboard and start criticizing your choice of Crosse n Blackwell over Branson or go through your fridge and challenging your man hood because you bought Lurpak, but as soon as you say you like Fosters, it’s open season, whilst maintaining that their choice is the correct one.

Used to enjoy the occasional cooled Strongbow but since they reduced the abv it's taken on a very watery taste.

I'm sorry you felt that way but your post came across as either a windup or by someone with absolutely no clue or experience regarding the consumption of alcohol.

Your OP, as I type has 0 thumbs yet posts 2 and 3 have 17 combined which speaks volumes imo.

Nothing to do with the other 10 pints and a curry then? :lolol:

How are you on Rattler ? Maybe you should pre-load with stuff you like and just drink soft drinks or tea at the stadium and save some cash.

I'm sure there was good consultation and surveying of supporters after a fairly significant change to the experience of thr Strongbox drinkers after 11 years at The Amex?
