No idea what it's called, but the Indian couple across the road make a Vegetable curry that is unlike anything i've ever eaten in a Curry House and it is SUPERB.

I love a Vindaloo, but it's a byword for something that's trying to blow your cock off with chilli powder. A top notch vindaloo is a thing of beauty - hot enough to pack a serious punch, but also delicately flavoured with ginger and spices and different textures with the potato.

I tend to only buy Madras in a place I know as they tend to vary so much some are just hot with no great flavour. and taste.

I'd agree with you on this. Madras and vindaloo are usually just the stock 'gravy' with added chilli powder. If the gravy's bland, then so will the Madras be.

A scandalous accusation of a crime of the most heinous kind. I hope you have evidence:laugh:

The fact that part 2 "but if going to a different place tend to opt for either King Prawn or chicken. Jalfreezi so the answer for me has to be a Jalfreezi. as they do not vary as much as a Madras does.IMHO."

...does look a wee bit....hurried :lolol:

Hurried? Perhaps you should say 'curried'!

I tell you what, the BEST thing Britain ever did was colonise the Indian sub-continent. Image if we'd left it all to the French? They'd have all the decent curry houses now, and shops that are open when you need them. The'd be insufferable: "We 'ave better food than yew, and we 'ave shops that can sell it all night! Excuse me while I go eat my Balti poulet."

Gawd bless you Clive of India and all the other imperialists.
