Really? why is that?
Champions League is expanding from next season - England's performance in Europe in recent seasons means it is likely 5th will be enough for Champions League this year.

Which I assume means that Europa and Europa Conf could go down to 6th-7th and 8th respectively?

In terms of Roberto's comments, I think it has to be top 4 and/or a cup this season.

De Zerbi is a born winner and has high expectations of us.

Only if the Top 5 win the cups

Let's have a look and see how often it's Top 5 clubs winning the 2 cups;

FA Cup
---
2023 - Man City - 1st - YES
2022 - Liverpool - 2nd - YES
2021 - Leicester - 5th - YES
2020 - Arsenal - 8th - NO
2019 - Man City - 1st - YES

Carabao Cup
---
2023 - Man Utd - 3rd- YES
2022 - Liverpool - 2nd - YES
2021 - Man City - 1st - YES
2020 - Man City - 2nd - YES
2019 - Man City - 1st - YES

9 out of 10 times over last 5 years.

So a good chance that EIGHTH will mean Europe this season. 'citing.

I would say, qualifying for Europe......again! That would ensure a good place in the League - plus winning a cup. Any cup.

Well then my target is winning the league :lolol: A target still needs to be realistic and personally I think all things considered, top 4 is unrealistic with the investment going on at other clubs/players we’ve lost.

Expectations are high after 2x4-1 wins but I’m not 100% convinced with our current squad how we will stand up against a more mobile team.
Still need another right Back , and at least one defensive midfielder

RDZ must realise that this squad is better than the Leicester squad that lifted the title.

At this stage I'd say qualifying for Europe would be another great season but come April next year that may be considered a disappointment depending on how the first 7/8 months of the season unfold
It would of been if we still had Mac and MC in the middle

He’s probably talking about the Champions League. Which is crazy.

I'm going to make a prediction. Stay with me. I think we are not only going to remain unbeaten all season but I think we will win every game, probably by a 4-1 margin.

I'm just contacting my turf accountant for some odds.

I've heard it was 4-1, for the first 4 games, then 5-1 for the next 5, then 6-1 for the next six and so on. Some sort of Zerbinacci sequence I believe.

As long as we can be as successful as Crystal Palace have since their return to The Premier League.

I refuse to get carried away just yet.
2 good results, but we haven't really been playing as well as the results suggest.

We have been handed a near perfect first 3 games.
This season's whipping boys at Home.
Our personal #2 whipping boys away
Our personal #1 whipping boys at home.

I will reserve any judgement on what's achievable until after the Newcastle and United games.
4 points form those games and I will start to get excited.
