Agree it is frustrating that Vicente & Buckley aren't featuring but their last returns from injury and subsequent breakdowns suggests it was all too premature. So reluctantly it makes sense to make sure they are fit this time. Hope they then get a decent run of games so we finally get to see our strongest team.

Looking forward to seeing Hoskins and Reyes too.
All of that. All four of those would be in my starting 11 if fitness wasn't as issue.

I've posted a few times before that Buckley is not happy and does not want to be here. All I get is slagged off and shot down in flames. I will never reveal my source and this is the last time I will say it......R.I.P Gary Speed.

Is that why he isn't playing or is it the niggles of an injury?

Really? Who's upset?
When gus was asked about the squad live on t.v he mention a couple of players as good and vincente as special, surely as a manager you need to keep all the players happy and not single out players as that can upset things.

Gus sometimes gets things wrong in a big way,a player can only be special if he plays, otherwise we are mugs for paying silly wages and getting nothing back.

Ok, all I know is that something has pissed him off big time. Don't know what it is, but it's something that happened shortly after he arrived. Whether it can be resolved or not I haven't got a clue. But he is not a happy boy and the fact his heart is not in it, is probably adding to his apparent inability to get fit. Or maybe he is fit and is just not being picked because of the fact he is not happy. You pays your money and takes your choice.

To much talk about him all the time. Players that have the shirt could be uneasy about it. Only could and no evidence of course.

Just think it hasnt worked and I cant see it working . He must be on big wages and i think we could replace him with someone who can almost guarantee us games.

Tough decision I know

Well then it's not to hard to belive then is it. I'm more worried that we spunk a million quid on someone whom the staff have clearly not done there homework on, if that's the case.....I mean I will say it again for those who just shrug it off...."A MILLION f***ing QUID".....jesus christ, a couple of years ago we were lucky to spend 50k on a player. Now were are shelling out top dollar on crocks and sulkers.

The 5 subs rule is seriously restricting us this season as with 7 buckley would have made bench yesterday

Yes its a ridiculous rule in that it also works against young players getting experience of being involved in a match and thereby giving them proper incentives. It also would give us a picture if a player is injured or not as listening to Gus is pointless. I think my rule of thumb is Buckley Hoskins and Vicente =injured, that way if ever they play its going to be a bonus...

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I doubt a team of professionals wouldn't want to play with an outstanding player and feel down about themselves for being in his shadow. They'd look to watch his style of play and love being a part of a team with his influence. I don't think we have much of a team of overly-inflated egos, so they'll be up for the challenge of keeping their places and relishing being a part of something often special.
If rumourmongers want to spread bad word about Buckley and any of us believe it, then it's a sign that we're now in higher places and such debates over individual happiness can occur with million pound players.

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
I

Buckley after saying he was still growing and that had affected the structure of his muscle tone (or similar) and implying he hoped to start at Southampton is mystery.

There was a feature just a few days ago on Seagull Player featuring Buckley where he talked about his unexpected growth spurt and how it has affected his muscle tone. He could well have had a reaction to playing in the reserves, so the club aren't taking any chances. If he's unhappy, then I think it may well be frustration that this is holding him back when he desperately wants to play.
