That's awful and is similar to a situation I experienced this morning on a trip to Lewes.

I was walking with Mrs PGTips along a pedestrian area. Yes, there is a cobbled section down the middle that vehicles use - but we were on the pavement. A Royal Mail van came along and swung onto the pavement (there's no kerb) and was so unbelievably close to my wife she had to quickly step out of the way. The van pulled up right by me and so when he opened his door I said to him about being careful of pedestrians. I did not swear or raise my voice. He glared at me and said he'd indicated and we shouldn't have been walking on the road. Errr ... it's not actually a road and we were actually on the pavement section anyway. He asked what my problem was and I repeated he'd nearly taken my wife out. His reply ... word for word ... "If I had, she'd be splatted all over the floor'. I was abolutely shocked. I stood there and he then got close and towered over me asking if "I wanted something". He was a young chap around 30 ish (I'll be 63 next month) ... over 6ft I'd say compared to my 5' 7". Another older gent who'd heard what what was going on came over to check I was OK and guided me away. Driver then got some parcels out of his van and headed off. Trousers half way down his arse ... very scruffy. Very odd he was driving a Royal Mail van as he didn't look like a Royal Mail employee.

Basically, he was just a nasty bully. I hate nasty bullies

So many arseholes out there. Why is everyone so angry? It was a mild inconvenience for my fella to move his van (a completely reasonable request) and he may have been having a bad day. He could have tutted and moaned but instead decided to threaten me with physical violence.

Society is more angry than ever. Not least because our population has almost doubled in a generation so more people more pressure on everything, and a positive soup of different cultures for added spice. No wonder our kids are armed to the teeth!

I was threatened by a visiting partner of one of neighbours a few weeks ago who had come out of his gf‘s house to tell a guy who pulled up in another neighbour’s driveway, that they weren’t in and was telling him to go because he was on private property. I had seen the car pass my window in the cul de sac and realised it was probably the electrician I was expecting who had gone to the wrong house. When I tried to go up to the car to speak to him to ask him if he was my electrician, the neighbour’s bf screamed in my face telling me to fcuk off and that he was ‘dealing with it already’ - This man is younger than me, body builder, with serious anger issues.. My electrician just ignored him and could see the guy was a complete and utter controlling twat.

Also last week, screamed at by some nutter in a supermarket queue because I left my shopping to get some salt which I had forgotten - I came back and all my shopping had gone from the belt and dumped in a basket yet the queue hadn’t moved on so I hadn’t kept anyone waiting.

Also last week, got honked manically and screamed at to ‘get off the fcuking road you spaz’ out of the window by a car behind me at a junction because my mobility scooter was too slow to get off from the traffic lights.

A disproportionate amount of tradesman are just unredeamable ****s who will get super aggro for basically no reason. Bully types who'll start on anyone. I don't know why it's the case. Stress of the job maybe?

My partner and her colleague (both occupational therapist's) are allowed to park on double yellow lines when visiting patients. Couple of weeks ago they parked outside a house in Hove, the owner who looked in his seventies, came flying out telling them to move. After they told him they were allowed to park there, he got in his car and started reving the engine a pushing his bumper against theirs. Then his wife and kids came out to continue the abuse. Bare in mind they're in their NHS uniform visiting his neighbour!
I told her with any luck the winter will kill him.

I've recently moved into a new flat in a block. Today I was getting everything delivered from the storage company. Moments before the van was due to arrive with my things, a contractor's van turned up to do some work on one of the flats, completely blocking the entrance to the driveway.

When he returned to the van to get some tools I *very politely* asked him if he could move his van (there was a massive space with plenty of room'). He said 'I'm not moving it', picked up his tools and walked past me back into the building without saying anything else.

As he passed me, I simply said 'So you're not going to move it then?'. At which point he flew into a blind rage, shouting in my face and physically threatening me multiple times saying how he was going to 'chew me up and spit me out' and how I should 'get back in my house'. I backed off, and eventually went inside as it was clear he intended to violently assault me.

I'm sure people have different ways of reacting to this kind of situation, but I am 61 years old. This guy was younger, bigger and stronger than me.

Thinking about it now, it seems incredible that someone should threaten the neighbour of someone they are doing work for in such a way.

His response was completely and utterly unprovoked. I did nothing wrong and was perfectly polite. Just a simple request to move his van.

I'm so sorry to hear that. And angry.

I am not one for letting things lie. I would have got his reg number, and thought about exacting revenge at a later date.

Later in the evening I would have considered his lot.
A scrawny missus who hates him.
Not enough money to swank about how he'd like.
The feeling his life was slipping away.
His physiology f***ed by the shit steroids and shit coke he's taken
Probably has a small willy, also.

Then I'd think about the nice things in my life.

We couldn’t help but laugh today …. where County Oak Avenue joins Carden Avenue in Hollingbury, an unconfident driver wanted a 100% clear Carden Avenue both ways before pulling out to head north. Someone in one of the 5 cars waiting behind her (yes, it was a woman) eventually flipped with sustained hooting. Gawd knows if their blood pressure was off the scale? .
