Fox hunting only got banned because it is a sport carried out by toffs chasing an animal with a fluffy tail. If it was rat hunting being carried out by a bunch of builders on motorbikes using rottweilers to tear the rats apart then no-one would care. The fox is as much of a pest as a rat. But it's not a class thing...

Cock-fighting. A working class sport banned C19th century.

Bear baiting. A working class sport banned C19th century.
Dog fighting. A working class sport banned C19th century.

Fox hunting. Banned C21st century. 120 years later. I wonder if it was because it was a sport mainly undertaken by the establishment.
