So, if we can, who will vote for Gary Hart?

I have asked the question in ask the club regarding being allowed to vote for Hart to win play of the season.

Who else will vote for him?

I know people will say this is player of the season, not player of the month but what Gary has done is exceptional. He isn't like Cox, who has suddenly picked up form. He has only just got back into the team and has shown the passion and desire we have been lacking all year.
If we stay up, it will be a lot to do with him...

All i will say is, mass vote for Hart:clap2:

i really think people are forgetting one man who has led by example, showed passion, been scoring frequently and performed consistently all year. And that is of course Nicky Forster.

I am not forgetting him. The difference is Nicky Forster is our captain and we have got what we expected from him.

Gary is a completely different scenario. We nearly all thought he was past it, and yet because of his attitude and fight, has managed to completely turn our season around...

What a load of old tosh. HE hasnt completely turne our season around, the team have. He has been a fantastic and crucial PART of it. Can't just put the entire seasons turnaround on Gary Hart. However, i think he should be put up for nomination. Wouldn't get my vote...

Insider has confirmed 15 game rule will still apply.
End of topic.

I think the question at the top of the thread should be treated as hypothetical.

In which case, I'd still say I'd vote for Nicky Forster. If Harty had shown this level of skill and commitment for, say, 15 matches, I would have considered him.

Player of the Season: Nicky Forster
Player of the Year: Andy Whing
Player of the Month: Gary Hart

The thing is, we all know Gary would have shown this commitment. The fact that he is has been injured and before this month, was probably 5th option up front for us, says even more about the bloke.

I think he deserves it

On the back of, what, four and a bit games? No. Not for me.

I'm not doubting he would have been committed to the cause, but you can't give it on the back of what he might have done.

I'm sticking with Andrew Whing who, when it has been most needed, has possibly shamed the rest of the team into getting stuck in and playing like they care.

I am a big Gary Hart fan, but i wouldn't vote for him. how can a player, whatever they have achieved, be considered "player of the season" when they've only played a handful of games?

Maybe because he has been our best player this season?

I would vot for him, for that simple reason, the performances he has given have been by far the best i have seen by a brighton player all season.

I dont think that any player that has played for the majority of the season deservers it as we have been utter shite all season.

Thats it the correct answer. Its Hart for me purely on the basis if he had not come in when he did were would almost certainly be playing 4th division football next season. If we stay up how much has Hart saved the club in lost revenue ?.

Agreed.

The guy gives 120% commitment in every game, even when we have been PONY he has been like a chewit placed on top of a pile of dog shit.

I know we have been largely crap this season, but it's still an insult to the players who have been regularly in the team for 40 odd matches to say their efforts are dwarfed by a man who's played 4 games.

I'm sure even Gary Hart, much as he'll undoubtedly appreciate your sentiments, will agree. Which should be the end of it. Three weeks ago, we were all falling overselves to decide between the only realistic candidates, Forster and Whing. Hart has done a cracking (and unexpected) job, but player of the SEASON?

Nah.
