[Albion] So, how much did Europe cost you?

Ajax away, came in at about £900 (3 nights, direct flights, food, tickets, etc) BUT got nearly £400 back from KLM for flight nonsense, so £500.

Roma away, (3 nights, flights out via Geneva, train and flight back via Pisa, food, tickets, etc) all in £700

3 home games; 4 x £25 petrol, 4 x £60 for tickets. = £340

So overall a little over £1500, not counting all the leave from work.

Absolute bargain.

Me and my son went to Athens. Tickets, flight and accommodation came to £590. Add in another for £300 for food, drink and tourist stuff.

Most expensive part of the trip was the train I got up to Manchester to meet him and fly out from there which was another £160.

I only stayed one night in Marseille and Rome, but including flights, car parks, transfers, hotels, match tickets and food/drink, both were more or less exactly £400 each.

I prefer to view the cost of these trips by the extra inches on my waistline. Marseille, Ajax and Rome was 2.5 inches.

Did Ajax and Rome with my son so it was double whatever I would have spent on my own. Actually probably not double as he doesn't really drink booze and I still would have needed a hotel room. But not far off.

As I said to a couple of people in the ground before the Roma game, at his age I was going to Southend, Aldershot, Chester and Gillingham. So was it worth it? Absolutely!

Due to illness I have not been going out that much compared to normal, so football is my only non family outing - and it takes up alot of energy.

Rome away was 650 quid - which for one person is alot - but I had to get in and out Thurs/Fri. I am still completely shattered now.

Kudos to those who could do all four - I'm too busy with work to get to them all. Luckily for Rome my current gig is work anywhere and as long as i could attend meetings and oversee the teams work, they don't mind where i was.

I think it was totally worth it - would do again, 100%.

3 home wins so £200. I couldn't justify away games on blowing too much on a 6 country European train holiday with the family last summer. Just spunked £2500 on flights to Turkey and Cyprus for this summer. I think it's time to cash in on nearly 30 years without booze and sell a kidney.

And to round things off, I think we all agree it was worth every penny.
Three nights in Amsterdam costing about the same as Chelsea will spend losing at Wembley twice.

Not going to add up the financial cost of the three away trips I did (too scary). Whatever the total cost was it was definitely worth it for the experience and will live me for a long time.

I'll go against the grain here and say that it wasn't an experience I'll savour. I think the Marseille game was one of the most miserable away games I've been to. Arriving twenty minutes late, having stood in the heat for about 75 minutes, stuck in the clouds behind netting, distracted by Albion fans having a fight with each other and then that long wait for the coach back. If you add in that my pre-booked appartment wasn't available and I'd had to find somewhere else close by. I'm 67 years old and I'd been on my feet for more than 10 hours by the time I'd got back to my appartment - that wasn't fun.

I'd been to Marseille before so I'd seen the place, which is just as well as I had pretty much zero opportunity for sightseeing. I'd had the foresight to go to a supermarket so I had something to eat for lunch and after I'd got home. The fightback from 2-0 was great but the whole experience was pretty dispiriting. I vowed not to go another away game but did try for Rome but only if I could get cheap tickets. I couldn't and was glad I stayed at home.

I'm delighted that the club got to Europe and hope they do so again but I'd be very wary about making another trip.

I did all the home games, got the three match pack.

Drove and as the WSL had sold out of food most days and the queues for beers were too long I spent very little in the stadium.

That's a shame. I did four nights and had a great two star in what initially looked a dodgy street, brothel opposite. However the chief madam graced the street by dressing like Edith from 'Ello 'Ello (Stupid Woman) it seems it's a thing. I had a good look around day one and by the time I left had made friends in a few bars and a lovely restaurant kept its kitchen open for me match night, so I could have a full meal and chill into the early hours. Great City, may even return. Loved it.
