Gathering with some mates - always ends up shit

Always have to pace ourselves over New Year with a few drinks down the pub 'cos at midnight it's then Mrs SoC's birthday and we go straight into party mode all day on the 1st. Fortunately it's a holiday on 2nd!

staying in with the missus. We'll make a nice dinner, and then I'll make a (smallish) dent in my single malts whilst watching Jools Holland.

About the same as the last 5 or 6 years then.
