:drink::drink:How's your running injury? Hope you can jog along a bit and more by now.

Nearly 18 months now. Seeing the consultant in ten days but not hopeful. I can run on treadmill with mild discomfort but any sideways movement of the knee is excruciating. Have put on 15kg in weight since it happened so desperate for progress.

Judging by Twitter, there seems to have been some kind of falling out between the FLA and a splinter group calling itself the DFLA (Democratic Football Lads Alliance) -

All a bit Monty Python really.

I joined the DFLA. They gave me the RIGHT to have babies.

The poll is too polarised. Many will be at various places on that spectrum.

There is nothing wrong with being anti-Islam but the problem with these groups is it's often about blaming "The Muslim Community" if it was just a case of being against a religion it be ok but it rarely is with these idiots.

"The peaceful face of resistance to Islamist extremism." Yes, I'd have no problem with an organisation that did that. (Note to the knee-jerk reactors, the instant-jump-to-(wrong)-conclusion-and wave-their-virtue-in-the-airists, I make a very definite distinction between Islamist extremism and Muslims generally).

Somehow, though, I don't see Football Lads Alliance as being that organisation........."the peaceful face of resistance to Islamist extremism" might be what it says on the tin, but I don't believe that is what it is inside, especially as what's inside appears to include Tommy Robinson.

The Football's lads' AlLiance.

We're not racist, football is not our agenda but we are very scared that after Brexit Sharia Law will run this country.

 Sharia law becoming the law in this country is nothing to do with Brexit. There will be those campaigning for it whether we're in the EU or not.

Give Alfred Mizzen the benefit of the doubt. He is impressed with someone dying for the Cause. Great promotion. Even the thick mods are impressed.

I have not met him but I know people who have. He has been extremely kind to me, reaching out when I was having some family issues, and my take is he's a decent bloke, and would likely be a firm friend in another universe. Unfortunately my attempts to reach out have not been effective (partly because I have been reluctant to tread too far).

My take is the avatar mocks the fact that Bobby Sands starved to death (and I presume your comment is facetiousness). Ths seems to be one of countless examples of disrespecting individual and collective users of NSC, born of an obsession (about republicans and socialists) that is based in grief. It is very sad. Unfortunately I don't want to see this ad infinitum when I log on for some football fun, so I have had to block him (some months ago, now) so I cannot comment on whether he has offered a credible defence of the avatar.

I’m not joining because I’m not a “lad” anymore. I stopped buying Loaded in 1999.

Good idea. I'll block and move on.
