Not sure if you're aware but the club is looking to cut costs in all areas and this will certainly include the playing budget, we've made one young promising signing for free and probably on lowish wages, upson again was free and wages hopefully not too high. This isn't the poyet era any more and I wouldn't expect us to see us spending willy nilly on Holroyds and Harleys.

Chicksen was not signed on a free , it was an undisclosed compensation fee paid to MK Dongs as he is under 24.

He's actually a centre back who has been played at left back. I asked him if he was a left back. He laughed and said No, he's a centre back.

I stand corrected. Says on some sites he's a LB. Straight from the horses mouth is good enough for me.

We're also heading towards not paying 4,5 or 6 new wages, for a month.
What's that £50,000 to £100,000 of income saved at a time when revenue isn't coming in.

There will be at least 3-4 new players signing by the end of the window mark my words

I'm not worried. We are a left back and a central midfielder or 2 short of a full squad so only need replacements for sales. I can only see us purchasing players who are a significant improvement on what we already have.

A squad which has a starting 11 with a decent replacement for each in case of injury or suspension is enough, we should then be using some development players to supplement.

With ffp it would be sensible to use some young blood rather than having more than we need thus creating a greater pot to spend on the essentials.
