and this somehow makes him disloyal
it is called aspiration

so you don't know someone who is in the middle somewhere who wants to be at the top

No it's called touting yourself

If it's such a reasonable way to conduct yourself perhaps you can give me a few examples of other managers who do it.

Sorry I missed that one after the Villareal, Norwich and Leeds games. What did he say?

before he came he was saying he would at some time like to manage Barcelona (this was while he was doing an interview in Israel)

Well if he does it at least once a month this season I'll agree he is no better than Gus.

FFS where have I said he didn't do well on the pitch? I am talking about his constant touting in the press which you and quite a few other Gus sycophants thought was ok as long as the performances on the pitch were good.

Thanks to Acker79 for linking me to the Sky interview. However it does not shed any light on any of my questions. My conclusion is very definitely that what I was told immediately after the event is correct, and I am astonished it is not obvious to everyone now. The Sky interview suggests to me that GP is caught up in his own hubris. It is EXACTLY the same in tone and style and substance as his silly defense of Suarez. He just does not get it. Regardless of what I am separately hearing about the roughness of a certain individual at the club, stick your head in an noose and expect to be booted roughly up the arse. Apologies for quoting myself, but all the key clues are below. I think . . . if I have been given several bum steers and added up 2 and 2 and got 5, please let me know. But for me, he has not said he will go to court and if he does, he's not going to get what he wants.

Let's go back to the quote

Having not seen the programme, it seems to me (from this thread) that 'missing facts' mean that GP does not quite seem to be making sense. His quirky style and English language skills don't help, I suspect. Anyway, think back to the interview and ask yourself these questions, and see if another explanation of some of the events emerges:

1. Did Gussie actually say he was or was not not offered the Reading job? (different from discussing the job with the Reading owners).
2. Did Gussie actually say he turned down an offer to take the Reading job?
3. Did Gussie name the club that made him an 'unbelievable' job offer? (easy to jump to the conclusion that Reading was the UJO - it may have been but did he say so?)
4. Did Gussie actually say he turned down an unbelievable job offer? (the strands may seem to link, but this may have been another unbelievable offer from another club)
5. Did Gussie identify any unbelievable job offer that he turned down (so, did he name the club he turned down, that when linked to all the above makes him look virtuous)?
6. Did Gussie say that he was not allowed by TB to Speak to a club? (I'll answer that one: obviously he was allowed to speak to any Premier club since it was in his contract).
7. Did Gussie say that TB refused to let him walk away from his contract? (this is an important question, yet it is an absurd question if you think about it. Key word: 'contract')
8. If Gussie were to have walked away from his contract, how much compensation would be due (from Gussie or any club willing to stump up the cash)? Killer Question?

he won't because he won't be asked
Gus was asked several times and I know of one occasion where he said specifically that of coarse he would love to manage a team in the premiership but would also love that team to be the Albion

Have you read the link to the Argus article that you quoted? I posted the link just now and there's not a single word about managing other clubs.

for Christs sake that was what he was paid for what happens on the pitch.
I hate fergie but would always respect what he was paid to do win things

Would you like me to copy & paste the Arsenal article that I have put a link to? You seem to be ignoring it, despite saying that Poyet touted himself in it.

Did Gus Poyet sleep with B.W.'s missus or something!?

It's an irrational hatred bordering on some crazy obsession! 43 posts of defaming Gus and counting... (and this isn't the first time he's done this)

I am beginning to think that is exactly what he is here for

There is another one where he asks why he shouldn't be able to manage Arsenal because he was at Spurs. I'm gonna have to find it aren't I ?...
