look where your manager has got you? and our 'unimpressive tranmere goalkeeper ' has got us?

All this shit about hoofball to lambert? not quite sure where you get this from.
most of our fans would say we pass the ball about to much and try to walk it into the net when we would rather they shoot. but hey, if you think thats what were doing and the amount of goals its scored us. fair play
No-one here is really saying he's a shit manager. You are second, afterall.

The only thing I will say is that 6 weeks ago there was no chance of us getting close to you. That doesn't seem to be the case any more, so you need to be a bit careful before you decide to come on here being a gobshite.

There is the small fact that our manager is a big name in European football, and has played at the highest level. Many big clubs are seduced by that kind of track record.

Being Tranmere Rovers' goalkeeper in the 1980s doesn't really have the same appeal...

Ah, he even looked like a smug twat with a punchable face back then!

I wonder if, even as a goalie, he dealt in the same platitudes, soundbites and Brentisms as now?

Wanker.

Living where I do, I have lots of Saints mates. If I had a quid for each time one of them had suggested over the last five weeks, that Adkins is looking clueless / desperate / lacking tactical nouse, I'd have, um, about 12 quid.

To be fair, I don't think Southampton are a long ball team, as generally they'll try to get it to their wingers or full backs first. Then they hit a 'direct ball' to Lambert, who normally peels off to the back post. Long ball no, direct style yes IMO.

In the 2 games I watched this season the only time they passed it about was in their own half. That's why Dean Hammond looks quite good, no pressure.

As soon as teams work out there is no plan 'B', they will continue their dismal run. Burnley struggled against us with 9 men, so I don't regard that result as particularly signifcant. Incidentally I would love Lambert in our team.

you lot are funny! wolves, leeds, chelsea, tottenham.. who next? I heard jose is leaving real madrid end of the season.. maybe they will come knocking?

It is f***ing annoying how people on here instantly link Poyet with a move to clubs much bigger than us.

Ive just spunked a few more notes on Brighton e/w at 80/1 with Paddy Power. Does Bonkersr-sfc compile the odds for them?

I'm a bit what you would might call..."basic", can you explain exactly how much that means you would win if Brighton were to come 2nd?

1/5th the odds first 3 places. Hence 16/1 a place or 8/1 return if placed only.

So £3 ew means i would get back £51 if 2nd or third plus an extra £243 if we win in.

I think Paddy Power pay 1/5th odds on the e/w so its 16/1 for Brighton to finish 2nd or 3rd.

Not a problem you're going to have, unless someone's physio retires.

He plays his own type of football and with it has turned a club around in 2 years with players who were once...IMO awful e.g El-Abd and he his now a great player, the set up of the club is they way he wants it and its proving to work. Why would a club not look at Gus?
