any paticular reason why you mention most of the teams above us except for the one we baet to prove your point?

southend

Exactly. We have only lost once to a team in the top 6 as the table stands. We beat Southend and got a very good point at Swansea. With a new signing or two in Jan i can't see why we can't finish in the top six.The best thing is i don't even think we have peaked yet.We are getting wins without playing well.

It doesn't look hopeful from the Sports Argus article. He seems to have plenty of options.

Not entirely true.He said he would give Brighton first choice in signing him if Ipswich don't want him.He wants to stay in England for a few more years yet.

Explain to me why that is going over the top? Not one team has played us of the park yet and that includes Tranmere,Leeds,Swansea,Southend(did look the best though)

I think that Forster could be the key. He has not been the regular goalscorer yet but if he continues like he did yesterday then we have a chance.

I don't think that top two is realistic as Forest and Leeds seem quite likely to be there, but who knows. We desperately need to keep O'Callaghan, Martot and Richards (or at least replace them) and sign Savage up again.

The next month will be key. Playing four of the top eight in a row will be tough and will probably show us whether we are realistic play off candidates or not.

Which bit isn't true?

'I've had offers from Ireland - Bohemians, St Patricks and a few of the Dublin teams. I don't know if I would be ready yet to go back to Cork City. I am 28 now and I have to look to the future. Setanta Sports have offered me work for them as well back home so I am going to have to sit and have a good think about it (then he says he'd rather stay in England for another two or three years)
I want to see what happens at Brighton and if Brighton want me they will get first choice of what I am going to do (if his agent asks for ridiculous wages like he did in August then it doesn't look hopeful)

I can't see why I shouldn't play for Ipswich but, at the end of the day, I am not bothered if it is over, because I know I can move on and go somewhere else'

Err it's there in black and white. If Ipswich don't want him then we get first shout.Thats not to hard to understand is it?

First choice (if the wages are enough)

First choice (if the wages are enough)

I am now starting to get really positive about making the play-offs. I think automatic promotion is slightly beyond us though. Anyway, that would be boring - I wanna go to Wemberleeeeey, Wemberleeeeey.

I wouldn't have given us a prayer at playoffs, even a month ago, but this division is truley shockingly bad. We're a whisker outside the playoffs now despite being (at best) average all season, and without having anyone bagging regular goals. If Forster really strarts firing from here on in, we could be serious contenders for a top 6 finish which, looking at the team and the quality of our play, is frankly incredible.

much like 2004, if you're moderately well organised at the back, and have someone who can get 20-odd goals, you're virtually a shoe-in for the playoffs. Then its just cup-tie stuff. Despite being very average, I've woken up to the fact that we actually have the credentials in this league. The Third Division is utter, utter toilet, and we might be a ble to take advantage.
