I quite enjoyed the first half.

There was an element of last season's perfectly maintained well oiled machine, but with an added undercurrent of potential shitehouseness.

Somehow that felt more natural, more Brighton.

The first half hour of the second half was just shitehouse.

Saturday took a lot out of Huddersfield with their derby win at Leeds. It showed tonight. I'm just hoping that Burton will be sickened by conceding in the 93rd minute at Fulham.

They got what they deserved and karma for their keeper for using up so much time per goal kick

Going back to the question from the OP I really don't know what to make of this season. Murphy's first half chance shows he doesn't chip in with enough important goals. Hemed goes through spells like Giroud or Lukaku.

I was wrong it's actually only one goal in the league. You can't make a team by just buying players. Pearson won't be there long.

Await the board statement after sacking him, we need to play the Derby way - which is what exactly ?

In your opinion, is this the win we needed to jolt us into life for the rest of season or is it just covering up our shortfalls up front?

I am still miffed at not getting another man up front and hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. I think once Stephens settles down with Kayal again and we put in a few wins it could be a different outlook to some of the gloom recently

No we were lucky tonight

Lucky for the goal but you make your luck and we had several good chances to score before which were not taken. We were positive, unlike Huddersfield who called for a draw or a win on the break. What an appalling team they were. We were well deserved winners in the end.

Truth is the goal saved a binfest on here and put a slight gleam on what was a big turd of a performance.

Thank goodness for the solid Dunk and Kayal who were the only positives in another under par performance IMO.

Seriously concerned about Bong and Skalak, the sooner the new lad is fit and Solly is back the better.

Need to try and stay positive though, 3pts against the league leaders when far from at our best, much improved from Stockdale and Duffy and so much better with Kayal and Stephens back in tandem, also though the support was 10 X better than Saturday.

Brentford gave us far more problems than Huddersfield did. They were an awkward team to play against on Saturday, very direct, whereas tonight both teams had a very similar style of play and cancelled each other out to a large extent. Always looked likely to only be a single goal in it. Probably have a lot more such scorelines this season also.

We won. Losing a third one on the bounce would not have been good - but we got the win. An OK win, three decent points. Hardly season defining, but all in all a satisfying evening. Keep them coming like this and we'll be alright.

Tonight was a far cagier game than the Brentford one. Huddersfield were playing for 0-0; it took them a few minutes to actually get players into our half. I thought we were a lot better than many on here are crediting: we went for it, had c15 shots, had four great chances beyond the goal, Murphy should have been awarded an indirect free kick in the penalty area

We missed out on goal difference last year, we were 8 points? Off the top before today. We need to seriously go on a run AND hope the teams above us screw it up. It's early doors I know but fine margins and all that..

Yeah, goal difference. But if that shambles at Cardiff hadn't resulted in a loss then goal difference wouldn't have mattered at all. Saturday's performance was for me a horrible reminder of that. Tonight's win at least lays down a marker, because it WAS deserved. And there were even signs that they might turn into a team....
