They can have their conference in Nicola's camper van.
People talk about the "camper van" like it cost a billion pounds.

It cost £110k.

Plenty of "normal" people buy more expensive camper vans. I'm sure Nicola could be able to afford one on her previous wages.

How about we talk about Sunak paying his cronies £3bn for PPE? Using his private jet that costs tax payer's £50k per day? How about his insider trading that will ensure that his father in law in India will rake in £1.5bn from the North Sea?

All that makes £110k look like pennies.

Why not flip the narrative?

We keep hearing that England subsidises Scotland (since the Oil was discovered in the North Sea. What a coinkidink). So why don't England stop it?

Or better yet, if Scotland don't contribute to the Union why have England never sought independence?

Why were England so keen to cut ties with the Union but are petrified of parting with Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland?

Simple. £1.5trillion have been raked in from the North Sea and apparently there's another £1.5trillion down there. At least.

Strange, Scotland were told that the North Sea would be bone dry by 2019 by the "Better together" Labour and Tory coalition.

There are 355 English MPs. Not one MP campaigns to kick out Scotland. Strange, if Scotland were subsidised you'd think the powers that be would want to cut ties.

There was a recent poll that claims that 44% of England identifies with the Union flag, whereas only 10% Identifies with the St George's. Contrast that with 51% of Scots and 46%of Welsh people who identify with the Saltire and Welsh flag.

And don't even get me started on the national anthems. If England left the Union (With the UK being Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), what national anthem would they use?

We all know that the UK is not a Union of equals. England are the head of the UK, which is why the National anthem is England oriented and the UK flag is loved by the English.

Namaste.

The funniest bit is Alex Salmond loving all this. His tiny party has the casting vote.

Don’t put Sturgeon and her administration on a moral pedestal. They orchestrated a deleting of all their messages made on state phones during the pandemic, later on. Every one. What did they have to hide?

What next is a collapse in their UK representation and a loss of their Edingburgh rule. I won't miss them, I'm a committed (small c) unionist - people are better united, taking a common approach. Moreover, The SNP, and to an even greater extent Plaid Cymru like to paint themselves as welcoming and egalitarian but if you scratch the surface you'll find the nastiness, the xenophobia that was prominent in some parts of the Brext campaign - replace UKIP with SNP or PC, just the same.

'We' have shared this island for thousand of years, been invaded a few times, bred with each other and yet somehow these parties think that once you cross those made up lines known as borders, people become terrible monsters with ill intent. Tossers.

I agree. Ignoring the background it's a great political showdown in next week's No Confidence vote. SNP unite or fall.
Further irony possible if the result is tied, Holyrood’s presiding officer, Alison Johnstone, a former Green MSP, will have to make a casting vote in favour of Yousaf, under a protocol that presiding officers vote for the status quo. Full circle 😆

I'm sure she could have.

If it was paid for from her/her husband's salary then there's nothing to see here.

If not....

I wonder what he's been charged with?

Always love the factous arguement of "but x,y,z are worse". You could then excuse Russia for its actions because Israel is doing something worse (or vica versa depending on your opinion).

So if Nicola could easily afford a camper van, why didn't she pay for it ?

Frankly I couldn't give a toss what the Scots do - none of my business. Go independent if they want - so be it. But just make up your bloody minds. Either commit to the Union or eff off.

Beat me to it

It's only 110k, so it doesn't matter....

Same with Rayner and any other MP if guilty

We deserve better

Humza Yousaf gone this morning, possibly to be replaced by anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage runner up Kate Forbes, lovely bunch of nationalists.

They stole only £110k from the party (allegedly) for the camper van? Oh, well that’s ok then. Small change for the average Scot.

I think the SNP MP's have generally been a positive influence on parliament.

That said they have outgrown being the insurgent force and after the current implosion will probably find an equilibrium of about 15 seats in parliament. Nowhere near enough to make a convincing case that there is a mandate for indyref2.

It would also be interesting if they depose a leader then install the contest runner up. That went badly for the tories and would go badly for them

She has said she "wouldn’t change the law as it stands" on abortion, she has also said she would not attempt to reverse existing same-sex marriage laws in Scotland.
