I'm well aware that people in this country have an incomprehensible inability to drive in snowy conditions, and I'm sure that's covered elsewhere. But earlier I saw a woman leaving the travelodge (Preston park) car park and it's filled me with rage. This clever clogs had cleared a small portion of the snow from her windscreen, but had left a thick layer over all of her other windows, headlights, breaklights and indicators and was trying to force her way into Preston Road. What a prat.

I'm sick to death of twats on the road!!! I'm a delivery driver and put up with it all day every day and today I saw so many idiotic things and accidents, use your heads TWATS!

There are two cars facing the wrong way, at different angles, on The Drove at the moment. It's closed from Compton Road BTW
It's amazed me how many people I've seen today without ANY lights ! Morons !!!!

Never mind the snow, my freaky darlings. Outside my flat yesterday, in the words of Holloway, some complete....person....had attempted to park a station wagon in a space that was about the size of a small hatch back. They tried religiously to get the car in, even though the car parked behind them would have to lose the front bumper and a portion of the engine.
Now then. If this wasn't bad enough, there's an empty lane of P&D spaces on the opposite side of the road. I mean you'd have to be blind or stupid to miss that. They cruised about 10/20 mph past yet more empty P&D spaces and drove off!

Down here in Southampton (Aaargh!) I was helping to get cars moving that were stuck in the snow, especially on the hilly bits, - walking back home I noticed a couple scraping the snow off their parked car. I advised them not to bother as the road was blocked both ways with lorries and buses unable to move.

I'v never driven in the snow before and might have to brave it on Sunday if it's safe (family christening in South london). We've parked on a major road so we should be okay to get out. What advice would you give? I believe low gears are the order of the day, driving slowly and leaving plenty of distance from the car in front. What else?
Always steer INTO a skid. Also, don't PANIC !

My father-in-law is ruddy amazing at driving in snowy conditions - his tips are as little acceleration as possible, don't touch the brakes unless it's the last resort and, if you get stuck, forget it - over-revving will only damage the car.
