It's that time of the year again where we all go snooker loopy for a fortnight as the World Snooker Championships come to town. This years event will be more emotional and poignant than ever being the first major world sporting event taking place in the covid world, but also gives hope for the future with limited audiences allowed into the Crucible theatre.

My work colleague Gurjit has returned from furlough just in time to help with a sweepstake for the event so if you want a piece then register your interest below, draw likely to take place tomorrow afternoon. All qualifiers below and draw for the first round takes place at 11am live on Eurosport.

I’m in and will no doubt get allocated a loser as Crodo gets lucky and draws a favourite

I'm calling Ronnie v Un Nooh as the tie of the round. 15 second a shot Teppy will make Ron look like Terry Griffiths

What would NSC be without a completely fair and impartial sweepstake by Crodo with the integrity of the draw verified by no less than Gurjit from Accounts?

In!

It'll be fasten your seat belts, thrill a minute stuff, Un Nooh is an absolute firecracker but I think the Rocket wins easily.

If Ronnie's head is there you're right.
