50,000 all-seater after revelopment. Only 750 more than it can hold now for rugby and friendly football games.

Croker is expensive to rent for a game, thats the problem. That and the GAA would want to approve every game quite stringently, meaning friendlies would be hell to organise. The pitch -can- take the beating given by frequent GAA, hurling, football and rugby as well as concerts though - its part polymer and they have artificial growth stimulation systems that can operate under covers.

Its an amazing stadium, and it has terraces! But hey, if we can't use it we can't use it :(

That is a pity, doesn't Croke hold something like 80k, with most games at Lansdown selling out easily surely playing at a larger venue would bring more money into Irish rugby/football benefitting both the game and supporters alike.

82,000 when the terraces are open. Can't remember what the figures given for terraces closed/terraces bucket seated were, but in the 60's for the latter IIRC.

I'd prefer no smoking in pubs, but I'm willing to accept it sort of goes with the territory.

... however, in restaurants & environments where you can't move away from the smoke, such as football matches, there has to be a total ban.
