Wandsworth Council informed a local resident that if he was to put up a marquee in his garden for a wedding reception for his daughter he must introduce a smoking ban inside the temporary structure even though it would be an invitation only function.

Does that mean that you must refrain from smoking in your own house when friends visit ?

I'm not sure what the council's reading of the regs are, but presumably this marquee would be the workplace of kitchen staff, waiters, mobile disco man, etc.?

Must admit there was no mention of whether it would be staffed. Thats the trouble with the Times - lack of detailed info - Its back to Star for me now where I can read about Bloomin Europe wanning to ban the great British banger.

It is clear that people are not taking this ban seriously enough, as Police have arrested 2 guys for smoking at Glasgow airport one of suspects was released as SINGE MAJEEP!!
