Chavtastic? Maybe, but some of our fand are chavs. And if they want to......... why not.

Pesonally, I prefer the polo shirt approach anyway - more low key.

Perhaps I should have made it clear that I was expressing a personal opinion. In fact I'll take this opportunity to state that all my posts, past and future, are expressing a personal opinion.

Of course people can wear whatever they want...

I bet they haven't. We didn't get a chance to get to the shop and they'd sold out.

(We didn't pre-order as:

a) With kids, you don't know what size they'll actually need
b) It's become a bit of a thing to visit the Amex and buy new shirts)

So anyone who has premier league patches on both sleeves cannot get the JD logo put on. For those who want an exact replica this is going to cause some issues I reckon. Personally two premier league patches is far more preferable but some people will be a bit pissed off I should think.

I know its all about "brand awareness", but seriously, is anyone going to see us on Match of the Day, clock the JD on our sleeves, and think "wow...I really must rush down to my local JD tomorrow morning and buy a garish, ill-fitting, sponsor-festooned acrylic top. And a tube of shuttlecocks".

I actually need some shuttlecocks, but don't think they sell them :(

If anyone is going to be buying garish, ill-fitting, sponsor-festooned acrylic tops, it should be Albion fans. Chance would be a fine thing.

Worth it for all the Palace fans throwing their toys out of the pram about this on social media TBH

Oh dear.

:nono:

Yes, I know it helps fill the coffers ( El Presidente any idea what sort of income this may generate? I have no clue what the going rate is), but, really?

The Amex shirt sponsorship is estimated to be worth £1.5 million a year, not sure when it expires though, it was originally announced as a 'multi-year' arrangement. Probably a bit low given the current market conditions (a small club such as Palace, with new sponsors, is supposedly on £6.5 million, for example).

Sleeve deals are going for about 20-25% of the main deal, so that would give £300-400k, but I would expect the club to squeeze out a bit more than that.

So is the JD logo going to be standard issue on all replica shirts from now on... I'm one of those that haven't yet brought a shirt. But since I donated my Brighton shirt to a Spanish family (long story) I need a new one!

Also anyone know if the shirts are back in stock as of yet?
