[Albion] Sleepwalking To League One

I am not a knee jerk sack the manager type of person. In fact I have been saying, give him a chance. However after the last two games it is clear this team is going nowhere except League One. Yesterday we were a complete joke. I don't think we have a relegation side and if fact I think this group of players well managed would have no trouble climbing this league. We do not have a leader on or off the field. Lewis Dunk is a great center back and one day may be a good captain but at a time like this we need a leader. Another bad discussion by the manager.

Had Derby not taken the foot off the gas, who knows what the score could have been. Every-time they cross the halfway line they looked like we could score. In contrast when we cross the halfway line we had not got a clue how to breakdown a Derby defense which I did not think was that good.

What happened to the five year plan to the Premiership? We have everything in place off the field and are we now going to putt all that at risk by not making a change NOW?

If we hang on to this manager we are sleepwalking into League One. I love this club and all the good work over the past three seasons will be thrown away.

Oh, we are going down. It's almost beyond doubt now. Worst season for a long time. People on here keep denying it but when you lose match after match, you go down. Better get used to it.

Not sure why you & others have taken so long to wake up to the fact that Hyppia should not have even been interviewed, with his inexperience & desperately short & broken CV.
Sammy Lee would have been a far better choice with Hyppia as specialist coach for the reserve centre backs....

Lose against Millwall and we've had it. If we keep Sammi till January then we could have a mountain to climb.

you could almost believe the upper management want us to go down
as yet I have seen no evidence that they are endevouring to keep us up

They might sit up and take notice if we're still in the relegation zone when season ticket renewals are due but by then it'll be to late as the damage would have already been inflicted.

Dumping Hyppia will relieve some symptoms but removing Burke from directing first team recruitment is vital ahead of January. I think we are now at the stage that our only hope is Tony swallows his pride, admits the obvious failings of Burke and Hyppia and hires a strong, experienced manager who is allowed to execute (or direct) drastic transfer business in January. Anything else and we are down and probably won't come back in a hurry.

It's a breeding ground for conspiracy theories for sure...

it would not be like this if there was some transparency from them
wheres the upper management spokesperson gone?
nobody is talking
why is this?

Presumably TB's November interview in the Argus and his in-depth reported Q&A with Seagulls Over London was intended to keep us ticking over til the end of the season. If so, it hasn't worked.

OK, so this is Sheffield Seagulls first post. After following Albion for 37 years we were moved to sign up to NSC because of the poor state of the club this season. False expectation from the last two seasons and TB saying fans would have a squad to be proud of at the end of the August transfer window. Proud is not the first word on my mind. Birmingham was a joke and Norwich was pure luck. Yesterday we went to Ikea rather than Derby because it was another nailed on defeat. If TB or his acolytes are reading this, Hyppia is beyond his use by date. But who should we bring in? Obviously it will be somebody currently out of work as TB does not pay compo. So who.....Tony Pulis would not drop to Championship, Nigel Pearson is still in work (just) - how about Brian McDermott? Did it with Reading and should still be at Leeds if their chairman had any sense.

An outsider would think looking at the evidence a slash and burn policy, selling any of the players that are worth big money and replace with League 1 and loans, maximise the revenue and don't spend to replace like with like

If only. Burke's dished out multi-year contracts with championship wages to the likes of Baldock, O'Grady, Stockdale, Kemy, Toko, Holla etc.

Still beyond me that we got 11 players in during the summer. 6 players are now in on loan and SH said he wants more players in January ?? ( Although I doubt if he will be here )
That says to me that Burke has basically pissed all the money we made out Ulloa, Buckley, Bridders and Barnes up the wall , and all Barber preaches is for us to spend more money at the club/ ground so they can waste more of it !!
Incompetency all the way up from the manager to the people running the club

Agreed 100%. Barbers ruffled some feathers but has done his side of the job by enabling a record playing budget that has been squandered by Burke. Based on previous, I just cannot see Burke suddenly developing the ability to wisely invest his budget while aligning spend with a managers wishes. He's failed to build an effective relationship with 3 managers now and how tony trusts him with his budget is beyond me.

Yes, McDermott. Quite.

I'm very much hoping those points we dropped vs Rotherham don't come back to haunt us.
