I notice that Elphick is no longer anyone's first choice CB, but it was not too long ago that he seemed destined to lead the team out as captain at Falmer. Was he overrated to begin with, or just not living up to his potential?

.....looks out of form to me.

Have we ever had a better squad of 26 players??????

Surely there is a permutation amongst that lot that could storm Div 1!!

It counts for little when, while out on the pitch, the most experienced defender is a 26 year-old hothead, meaning if he's not playing, the most experienced defender is only 22.

That may sound like over-simplification, but we can have the best players in the division (and on paper, I agree that's not a bad squad), but it's meaningless without a solid, reliable defence. Sort that out, the midfield will play better by virtue of not having to cover for the inexperience, and can support the forwards instead.

Dicker has done bugger all for a few games now, but everyone has turned a blind eye to it after the shameful singing for him at Millwall.

He's a good player though, but Crofts is the man in the middle that's shining at the moment.

Completely agree with the Wizard, if you want to bring in Thornhill, it's got to be Dicker who goes.

This is exactly the point I am trying to make! You can have the greatest horse in the world but if no one can ride it!

Unstoppable :albion2:

I am loving the unstoppable element
Our defence is now superb & will soon become the best in the division and forster with either murray or dickinson will be banging in the goals pronto
This is so little difference between the top of the table and the basement that the Albion will be in the playoffs in no time

There were reports that the talking between Forster and Murray on saturday wasn't exactly friendly. Those reports were common last year, too.
I also remember seeing it said on here that Murray and Forster each perform better when the other isn't in the team, but don't know if the figure back that up.

Forster - 7 goals in 11 appearances
Dickinson - 3 goals in 12 appearances
Murray - 0 goals in 5 appearances.

On all of that you'd go with Forster and Dickinson.

But, when you factor in that Murray is coming back from injury, and Forster is getting on a bit and 3 games in 8 days might be a bit much, I would go with Murray and Dickinson.
