Slade out - He's not gonna make the team gel

I listened to the guy on the BBC last night after the game, he sounds like a nice bloke.

I'm beginning to wonder though whether he's got enough fire to cope with what I think is a difficult pressure-cooker position.

I noted on here after the Brentford game that Whing loked uncomfortable at right-back, and better when he was switched to the left. But again Slade started him out on the right last night, and per the radio commentary, he was all at sea, got yellow-carded and nearly sent off and gave away the first goal.

Surely if I, a humble part-time football supporter, not even a dedicated Albion fan, can see that, why can't Slade?

I don't get what you're suggesting? Who would you drop Whing for then? Or are you on about playing him at left back (a position in which he's awful)?

Are you attacking Slade for playing our player of the season at right back?

Hmm ...................... maybe because Whing is a RIGHT FOOTED right back and has been throughout his career :lolol:

He is currently desperately out of form and low on confidence but he remains essentially a RIGHT BACK

Your player of LAST season. And he looked totally at sea on the right against Brentford, and let's face it, they're not exactly blessed on the left wing.

It seemed to me that El-Abd was happy on the right, and haven't you bought in another back to cover that spot?

lol, Sorry it just had to be done! Slade needs time to sort it out, like he did when he came in originally, i am worried but we'll get through it...

hopefully with a win against Wycombe! I just look at it like Slade must see something about the players he's starting to leave others on the bench because he watches training every day.

but then again he did say something in an interview not long ago about how certain players like Dicker haven't stepped it up from pre season and thats why there on the bench, he might be the type of manager to play who's in form rather then who has the most ability, which is a good factor to have really, well sometimes.

Okay, you know his feet preferences better than I do I guess. But that header he made in the first game to concede the OG was a 'mare, I think you have to seriously examine what his mindset is.

Funnily enuff, he actually looked a bit better when he switched to left-back last night! Mind you, that's not really saying much - given his generally high level of hopelessness at the mo' in his favoured position. What the SMEG has happened to the bloke this season??

So what about the end of last season?

Probably more to do with a chopping and changing back line due to injuries and suspensions
